I am always better in the afternoons and evenings. So much so that I avoid doing anything physically or mentally strenuous in the early morning hours. I look forward to the solace that the evening usually brings, only to dread some of those awful mornings as I know the cycle will repeat. Amazing how the human body can adjust life to accommodate this problem.

How are all my MC friends doing?

Hi Rich,

We're hangin' in there.

It's good to see a post from you again. I see that your routine is similar to most of us.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I too used to be a morning person.

Now I am an afternoon and night person, I sometimes think I want to squeeze every moment of the day.

I might be in a terrible state with the dreaded D, but, an hour later feel fine.

One day, one day, this will be an awful dream, MC came and it can go.

Prior to Enticort, during full blown MC, there was no good time of the day. I had explosive diarrhea more than ten time a day. I was weak and had difficulty remaining coherent and upright. On one occasion on a trip from NY to VA, while I was in a rest area, my doctor returned a call I had placed to him. I couldn't remember exactly why I called him or what to say. The scary part of the story is that I was the driver on this trip! I spent three months thinking that I was "flying under the radar". In truth, I slept much of the time and had a few bats in my belfry. On Enticort with a careful diet, all times of the day are reasonable and similar.

I have had some of my attacks at night between 12mn - 3am, but also in the morning. I make appointments for the afternoons.

When MC was at its worst, the early morning was the worst and I often slept on the toilet. Gross but necessary. During recovery, mornings were better and afternoons were for napping.
Five years later, five years older and a Sjogrens diagnosis and I'm definitely not Speedy Gonzalez. However, MC is in remission and I'm very grateful.
