Guys,
BAM has to be my missing piece. Bone broth makes my gut worse. No D prior to the diet, because I was basically eating mostly gluten just to get full. Only had gut cramps, bloating and gas. Now I'm eating meat and potatoes. Last night for supper, I had lamb chops (they were really greasy) and baked potatoe. 1 hour later, D. Can't stop this am, even with pepto. Plus I have nausea.
Just curious about the differences in welchol and colestid? Has anyone had better luck with one over the other? Thanks guys!! I appreciate everyone's advice!

Martha,
Early on, too much fat can cause digestive problems. For many of us, the inflammation can compromise the ability of the pancreas to produce enough lipase to digest greasy foods, and the unabsorbed fat can act as a laxative.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thank you Tex! I'm not sure what to eat at this point. I guess I'll go back to rice and turkey. I know corn gives me gas. I was worried about rice causing the D early on. Been off rice for 6 days. Not sure how to tell if rice is bothering me now since my D is so bad. I keep trying bone broth, I guess I need to strain the grease after it forms. It bothers me. Even EVOO is too much on me....
Guess I need to stick with only turkey for couple of weeks. I'm losing weight fast.
I'm still thinking about the BAM medicine, just to see.

Martha,
I know I would have gotten sick from the cholestyramine lite - I am sensitive to all sugar substitutes as well as red dye #40. If you look online, some people claim that Welchol has fewer side effects than the older meds. Maybe your doc would agree to some trial doses of the Sandoz regular cholestyramine and then the colestipol if the Sandoz gives you problems. Then you could move on to the Welchol. Depending upon your insurance, they may require you to fail with the generics before paying for the Welchol (still under patent).
Good luck.
