Hi all,
Thanks, I'm going to Aldi's tomorrow, if I can, but will check all labels for soy & casein. I got out today for about 1/2 hour but the tummy rumblings were getting pretty active and I decided to get home fast. I've been ok so far today, just watery D this am.
Tex, I've been thinking about that HPylori infection that I had in the 90's. If my memory serves me correctly, my main symptom was watery D, the PC Dr. at that time sent me to a GI who did an endoscopy. Why did he do that I wonder now. Unfortunately I don't remember what other symptoms I might have had. The GI prescribed Prevpac. When the D didn't go away I was given Prevpac regimen 3 or 4 more times. The D eventually went away. In early 2003 I had watery D for months and that same GI did a colonoscopy. I woke up in the middle of the colonoscopy screaming because it hurt so bad!!! The diagnosis was IBS. I never went to him again.
Anyway, could I have had CC way back in the early 90's? I'm remembering another long episode of watery D in the early 90's, I remember it because we took my kids to Disney World and all I did was run to the bathroom.
Thanks,
Susanne

Sure. Back then they didn't routinely collect biopsy samples during colonoscopy exams, because if they had even heard of MC, they considered it to be a rare disease, and doctors never expect to ever see a patient who has a rare disease, so they don't even bother to look for rare diseases. For some of us, the disease begins with intermittent symptoms (IOW, reoccurring episodes, with periods of remission in between). That's how mine began over a period of several years.Susanne wrote:Anyway, could I have had CC way back in the early 90's? Prevpac is a potent treatment. It contains lansoprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin If you were given that PPI and antibiotic cocktail 4 or 5 times, it could have easily caused your MC, if you didn't already have it.
You're most welcome,
Tex

Hi all,
It's been 6 days on Entocort, 9 mg., I have seen Norman but I also have some D after Norman.
It's been over 1 1/2 years since I was last to Entocort. I have been experiencing extreme fatigue, not sleeping well at all, leg cramps, headaches and discomfort in my upper back. Are these some of the side effects?
Off hand, does anyone know what national drug store chain carries the eggless flu vaccine? When we moved in March, I came down with the flu the day before moving day. I don't recommend moving with the flu. I was sick for a month afterwards.
Thanks,
Susanne

I'm on Budesonide and it disturbs my sleep..............I take 1/2 tablet of Benadryl before I go to bed................I put Epsom Salt Lotion on my legs and feet before bed and haven't had a leg cramp or any aches in a long time.........I also use magnesium spray throughout the day. It's been over 1 1/2 years since I was last to Entocort. I asked at Walgreen's awhile back and they told me those were mainly given at a doctor's office. So, Walgreen's doesn't. I decided to just take my chances this year.Off hand, does anyone know what national drug store chain carries the eggless flu vaccine? Susanne,
As Jari suggested, you may be developing a magnesium deficiency. Many medications deplete magnesium.
Drugs that Deplete: Magnesium
Many of those same drugs also deplete vitamin D, especially corticosteroids, but a vitamin D deficiency wouldn't necessarily cause that combination of symptoms. A magnesium deficiency certainly could.

Hi,
The only drug I'm taking on the list is the Budesonide. I will look into the magnesium, as well as the Vitamin D3 that was previously discussed. I also know that if I don't drink enough water I get leg cramps. I know that I have to keep that up.
Is it possible that the Budesonide might not work this time around. Today is day 7 and today the MC mud appeared many times. I haven't actually had the MC mud, just a lot of watery D since this flare started. The past 2 days I saw Norman with a little watery D as well.
I'm so very angry with myself that I slipped up after 1 1/2 years in remission. After last time, I vowed it would never happen again.
Back to the drawing board and plain, plain food.
Thanks,
Susanne

Hi Susanne,
If this is just the second time that you have used budesonide, it's possible that it might not work, but that isn't likely. If may not be quite as effective, (IOW it may take a little longer to work), but it should help to get you back into remission. It sounds as though it's beginning to help already. In some cases it takes several weeks before it begins to take effect. With the right diet, you should soon have your symptoms under control.

Hi all,
I went away for a week, was miserable the whole time and I'm still miserable. I'm currently taking 9 mg of Entocort EC.
I got constipated while I was away, so I took 6 mg of Entocort one am, and the D came back the next day. I know that I goofed up with diet while I was away but I'm back on track now. The day I was to fly back I had really bad D in the am, I took 2 Imodiums right after the D and 1 later right before takeoff because I didn't want any problems on the plane. I was then constipated for 2 more days, I had and still have a bad "stomachache", I did have a small BM this morning but it was a cross between a Norman and D. I'm thinking of trying the 6 mg of Entocort again tomorrow. What do you think? I just don't remember from the last 2 times I took it. This time I started taking Entocort on 9-14, so I've been on it around 2 weeks.
My new Primary Dr. referred me to a GI. I just cancelled that appointment because he isn't an in network Dr. and I have a high deductible. He also referred me to a rheumatologist but that Dr. isn't an in network Dr. either. They know what insurance I have, so I'm glad I checked before I went.
Thanks in advance for any helpful information.
