The Microscopic Colitis Foundation Website

Hi All,

In case anyone here is still unaware of the existence of the Microscopic Colitis Foundation website, or hasn't checked it out recently, we finally have everything pretty much set up the way we want, and everything seems to be functioning properly.

If anyone wants to subscribe to the quarterly newsletter, (and haven't already done so) now is a good time to sign up, because the newsletter will be emailed on or before October 1. In fact, if preferred, it can already be viewed/downloaded by clicking on the image of the newsletter on the newsletter page of the website. The newsletter page is listed as an option on the "Support" menu.

The other members of the board of directors and I (with Zizzle's help in setting it up initially) sincerely hope that you like the layout of the website, and that you appreciate what it stands for. We're spreading the word on the Internet, and hoping that we can inspire enough donations to get the message about MC to all of the places where it is so urgently needed.

And we're hoping that we will be able to accumulate a research fund that will be sufficient to allow us to promote a research project to prove once and for all, that diet changes are indeed a medically-proven way to treat MC. This is a very ambitious project, but if we can get enough funding support, we should be able to use that as a stepping stone to demonstrate to other medically-oriented organizations that this is a project worthy of their support, also. And after the research is published in a respected, peer-reviewed medical journal, GI specialists will no longer have an excuse not to recommend diet changes as the safest, and most reliable way to treat MC, especially over the long term.

And as always, suggestions and comments are welcome and appreciated.

Been there last week (noticed the red link at the top of the page ;-), and have shared the link on Facebook to all my friends and family and a couple have even liked the page already!

I plan to spread this news far and wide and hopefully someone with deep pockets will come along and have the faith to make a study happen.

You can't (well I'm sure you can) imagine how many people, normal friends neighbors people in general that I visit with and there is a bit of a link about our symptoms that is hard not to point a finger at and say 'Yep, you could be dealing with MC". I direct them to this site (and now the new Website) and encourage them to learn as much as they can, for their sake and their families.

WOW! Very impressive. I've been to the site before while it was still "under construction." I look forward to reading it thoroughly.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this. I am looking forward to the day when the GI's stop rolling their eyes at the thought that food plays a role in this disease. I was very discouraged at my last visit in June. I am doing very well, and thought the doctor would have asked a lot of questions as to why I am doing so well now. Sorry to say that was not the case, but hopefully one day they'll open their minds up to this fact.

Yes, unfortunately it takes a while, and a lot of hits, before the search engines will begin to give us a decent rating.

Yes, unfortunately it takes a while, and a lot of hits, before the search engines will begin to give us a decent rating.

So maybe it would be helpful if we all googled "Microscopic Colitis Foundation".
Edited to add: I didn't find it until I added "persky" to the end. I'm not sure how search engines work but I then clicked on it...not sure if that helps or not.

When I get a batch of free time, I intend to work on the search engine optimization possibilities for the site. I haven't had time to do much with that yet.
