No nasties
Have just woken up after a good nights sleep. Had very little the night before. Because I was having it in the afternoon had to take the first part of the prep tuesday night with the result that the whole nIght was spent more or less on the loo. Then the 'Swampwater" yesterday. They changed the time for admittance twice & ended up with 3.30.pm Finally got done just after 6pm. No nasties, no polyps this time. He took biopsies & I have to make an appointment to see him in his rooms. Got home about 8.30pm. Very happy with Caboolture Private Hospital. Would not bother going down to Holy Spirit or Northwest again if possible. Except for the wait with no water ( had to stop at 12.30 & I was pretty dehydrated by then) it all went very well. Had my own room with television so could watch the tennis while I waited. The staff were excellent, probably better that I had struck before & I think my new GI & I will get along just fine. He is a very nice, caring man & seems to know what he is doing, so losing old GI is not such a disaster after all.

Excellent! It doesn't get much better than that, when you're having a colonoscopy. Finding that your new GI is a keeper, is a real bonus. Glad it went so well.

Great Liz! Get better now ya hear?
Glad that's behind you!

Dear Liz,
I'm glad to hear it, too. Caboolture!!! What an unusual name. Is it Aborigine, or Dutch, or a family name? Where I'm from we have Indian names like Toppenish, or Walla Walla, or Skykomish. But I like the sound of Caboolture. Marsha

The Caboolture area is the traditional home of the Kabi Aboriginal people. The name "Caboolture" is derived from Kabi words meaning "Place of the Carpet Snake".The snake is called 'Kabul' . The heritage of the area is kept alive by community groups who have the carpet snake as their emblem. For instance, My VIEW Club has it & our District Bowls Assn incorporates it in it's badge as does one of the Bowls clubs in Caboolture. There are many other towns & areas in Australia that are named after the aboriginal word for the area such as Wooloongabba, Yeronga, Murrumbidgee etc. Bongaree on Bribie Islad was named for an aboriginal of that name.

Liz,
Thanks for the background information. I love the sound of the Indian and Aboriginal names that some cities and locations have. The names add a lot to the mystique of those places.
I'm glad to see you're posting again. I was afraid you might be having a bad day, after the prep and exam. Is your doctor allowing you to resume taking Entocort again?
Love,
Wayne

Liz,
You forgot to tell us one very important detail -- is your new doctor cute?
My mom used to come home saying that Dr. so-and-so was cute whenever she got back from seeing a new one, not that she had all that many, mind you.
Anyway, one day when she came back from some appointment with a more relevant report, so my dad asked, "Did he pass the cute test?"
My parents were sooo funny, and even now with her dementia, Mom will come out with the funniest "on purpose" little jokes or comments. Guess people with a good sense of humor have em for as long as they live.
Yours, Luce

Wayne I had a pretty bad day yesterday, exhaustion mainly. Two nights without sleep & the prep knocked me around a little more this time too. My mouth is still pretty sore, it was so dry & lips sticking together. Far too long without water when I was already dehydrated I think. Leg is giving me a bit of curry also. I think I was a bit premature thinking that I came out of the falls with nothing more than a few bruises. Sometimes it takes a few days for inflamation to set in when you have an injury. Been resting it & using hot & cold packs as doc advised but as soon as I get on it again the pain starts again.
Well I have had my bit of a whinge, that should make me feel better.
Don't know what is happening about medication until I see the doc in his rooms. Couldn't make the appointment yesterday as it was Australia Day & everything was closed. Had a problem getting on today as well so will have to wait until Monday to call again.
Lucy, He is quite cute I suppose Very nice man, & the best part is he is quite young & should last me another 30 years before retiring. Some of my friends think that my surgeon is just the 'ants pants ', quite young & good looking. He called when they were visiting me in hospital & I think Norma wanted to have him operate on her too.
It is great that your Mum still has such a sense of humour. I suppose her basic personality would not change in spite of the Dementia. By the way, how is she since her fall?

My goodness, Liz, I believe my mom, er ah, mum, is doing better than you right now, as far as her fall is concerned. I hadn't somehow realized that you were feeling so awfully poor these days, or I'd not have been quite so silly in my last post.
Do feel better soon, and I'm glad you are hangin' out with a bunch of hunks! THAT should make you feel better right there!
Keep us posted, ok.
Yours, Luce
