I buy my vitamin D3 from U.K. since the highest dose per tablet I can find in my own country is 20 mcg. I was shocked to received this e-mail from my deliverer today:

Hi Lilja,
Just seen this post..........
Is Norway part of the EU? I heard about this legislation coming up a few years back and think its out right disgusting and disturbing. The EU pass so many laws and interfere with governments of countries in the EU.
There are many areas of British life that have been disrupted by EU regulation. Very soon the UK will have a referendum to see if we stay in the EU. On the one hand it's beneficial but many EU counties are now very angry at the way a few in power in Brussels dictate our lives. Personally, if David Cameron our Prime Minister can negotiate better terms and autonomy for the UK I'm happy to stay, if he can't we are best on our own as a sovereign
Nation.
May be if Norway is not in the EU it intend following the EU rules - can't imagine why except for political or economic reasons. Someone's making money from this ban!
Hi HappyBird,
No, Norway is not in the EU. We have had two referendums; one in 1972 and one in 1994 and people voted "no" both times. I suspect this new law is formed to protect the pharmaceutical industry.
We are members of the EEA (European Economic Area), and we believe that the new law is against the EEA-regulatory. That is why we have engaged lawyers to look at the validity of the new law.
I still have D3 5.000 i.u. in store for approx 1 year, but the active Bvitamins are about to run out.
I will not hesitate to show civil disobedience by continuing to order from abroad, and also take frequent trips over to Sweden.

I was chuckling at the mention in the article about Bob Ullman taking on our American health officials in order that vitamin D in high dose can be sold here. I didn't know that about his work. As mentioned in the write up he was a good guy and a "legend" with his health industry law practice.
And agree, might be best to go the civil disobedience direction. Hiring lawyers is expensive! What I remember of Bob, while good at his work he was also legendary with his creative billing. I think he even billed for working 25 hours in a day once. Hope you drive a fast car.
THE AUTHORITIES HAVE TODAY GONE BACK ON THE NEW LAW, SAYING THAT NORWEGIANS COULD NOT IMPORT SUPPLEMENTS FROM ABROAD.
WE HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY "TERRORIZING" THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THE POLITICAL PARTIES, AND EVEN THREATENED TO TAKE THEM TO COURT - AT LEAST THE EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHT COURT.
I HAD TO USE CAPS LOCK THIS ONCE!
I'm so happy

Hopefully they will remember the shame of making that mistake for a long time.
