Antioxidants doubled spread of cancer in mice and human cell

Post by Erica P-G »

Not sure if any of us are taking anything extra beyond good whole foods, but this was an eye opening experiment

It's not the kind of study that would lead to policy changes, (not that even if it was a human study would is cause policy change. Facts seem to matter little all to often it seems.) but it does make me wonder about the antioxidant verses oxidant theory when it comes to fighting cancer. Some people believe in using ozone or peroxide, two oxidants for fighting cancer. In some poorer countries I guess ozone is a standard treatment option for fighting cancer, with Cuba and other countries doing studies on ozone finding it beneficial. Others say though to avoid oxidants as they damage the body, and can cause cancer and make it worse.

Erica,

Thanks for the link. That's not surprising though, since most recommendations for such micronutrients designed to do wondrous things for health usually turn out to be based on hogwash, rather than science. :sigh:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
