Hi all,
I weaned off Endocort and am trying to manage my MC with diet alone.
- Gluten free for 3 months
-no raw fruits, veggies, nuts
-extremely limit soy, eggs and dairy
-no caffeine of any sort
I feel I am making progress, still have D, but usually only once or twice a day. This is a BIG IMPROVEMENT! Once in awhile I seem to be moving past D, however I find it still returns.
I can tell I am improving. I can occasionally make a dietary slip (never with gluten) and while my gut isn't happy, I don't have instant D.
However, I have a question, Did those in remission have D while working toward remission? I just don't know if this is normal, or my diet needs to change further.
D while healing?

Yes, it can take a long time for some of us (6 months to a year), for the intestines to heal enough that the D will stop completely. But you may need to totally eliminate dairy, soy and/or eggs if you happen to be sensitive to them, because if we produce antibodies to a food, even tiny trace amounts can cause D, and interfere with healing, for many of us.
I hope you continue to improve.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Also, I found that even though I stayed away from gluten, dairy, soy and egg for 4 months and it seemed like I was healing nicely the hormone supplements I was on was keeping me from reaching good BM status.
So if you've been true to the diet remember there could be something else lurking around that you may not have thought about keeping you from reaching that light at the end of the tunnel.
Once figured out it is the best feeling in the world
Here's to continued healing
