Took the plunge
Well...I tried to do this whole thing naturally. Ate only rice and meats. Kept having episodes that lasted week or so. I am now on entocort...found out it is now faa approved and i need to be a functional person again. 9mg right now. Giving me terrible acne on lower torso...never had that?? Almost normal BMS.....first in 5 or 6 months. Still pain in my guts.....but tolerable.
Awesome pilot! Glad Entocort is working. Perhaps with stepdown of Entocort acne will get better? Sheesh...it is always something but I'm glad you can keep working! Recommend listen to your body regarding stepdown of Entocort. I went from 3 to 2 Entocort when I got constipation after about 3 weeks. Typical US dosage recommendations on Entocort is 3 months. ON THE FORUM WE FIND LONGER STAY WITH VERY SLOW TAPER WORKS WELL AT LOW END. I was on Entocort for 4.5 months. It is not unusual to be on it 5 or 6 months.
Forum members find slightly longer stay on Entocort reduces relapse. At low end of taper I was on 1 pill every other day for about a month and 1 pill every third day for about a month. Total usage for me was 4.5 months.
Ask members if you have questions before getting off.

Armstrongpilot,
I've taken Budesonide since about the 30th of June.........I am now on the slow tapering off stage........one, every other day for awhile............
It will take a few weeks with healthy eating and the medication before your pains go away. I had a pain in my left side that I had had for 2 months or so, and I didn't think it would ever go away. But it eventually did when I kept to my gluten free, soy free, dairy free, and egg free diet.........but it was about a month or so into taking 9 mg. of Budesonide every day and also the diet before my pains subsided.........I feel wonderful now (actually I feel better than I have in a really really long time), and have been able to add some foods back in.............there is light at the tunnel! Hang in there!

I've been on it for 10 days now and it seems to be working well. Haven't had d for a whole week; cant say that has happened in 6 months. I wonder how long until my body can absorb nutrients again and I can start to gain my weight/ muscle back. I want to start adding some foods back in and see what I can tolerate...any thoughts on this? I still have bloating after some meals that I hope will subside soon
It was four months down the road before I started adding foods back in. Don't rush it. You want to heal, and it can't do that if you are adding back in foods that cause distress. The Budesonide masks the symptoms in lots of people (I don't happen to be one of those..........it didn't mask the symptoms if I ate something I shouldn't have)........so be very careful of that.........if you don't get your diet under control, when you do go off the medication, you'll have lots of issues.
