I found a link to The Intolerance Testing Group, has anyone had testing done by them or heard of them?
I am considering having testing done, this company is in th UK.
Any suggestions about a good UK Lab or company doing testing, please share.

How is the testing done?? Blood? Skin? Saliva? Or poop? Or kinesiology?? MRT??
imo - the only reliable value for money science based intolerance testing is poop based.
I and others have had good success with kinesiology based testing, albeit some don't believe it to be relied upon.
Based on various experiences of many here, if the inflammation levels in your body are high it will impact reliability of skin, blood based testing.
How much is it?? How does it compare to pricing for enterolab?

I did one through this company: http://www.yorktest.com/
I believe it was a finger prick test and it picked up on 23 food intolerances. I did the intro test first to check that I had intolerances then progressed to the full test.
The only thing is, it only gives ratings of 0-4 for intolerances. But it did help me.[/url]

Reviewing their site and the testimonials, most of the good comments were about their customer service, not necessarily about the accuracy of the results
have you researched some local blogs of other IBD's sites to see if anyone there has done the testing and did it help them?

Just did a bit of research reading - most doctors/professional bodies reject this type of testing
I have done hair mineral analysis as a means of checking nutrient values and checking for heavy toxins.
Many here have done MRT testing (another one that is poo poo'd by the medical fraternity) and it has helped them
The main thing to keep in mind is that it is an indication of things at this point of time. Like other testing things can change over time.
And as we have learnt with poop testing etc, high inflammation levels in the body can affect results.
Price wise, comparing it to what i paid for my hair mineral analysis (it did not include intolerances) it is reasonably priced.
If you do proceed, dont expect your doctor or GI specialist to embrace the results.

This is just my strictly unprofessional opinion, and I have no idea what you might be looking for in those tests, but hair analysis appears to be somewhat useful for detecting the presence of heavy metals, and possibly mineral deficiencies, for example, but I have grave doubts about it being useful for detecting something such as food sensitivities.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hello Tex, Gabes & Naty..........
I'm going to do the tests........will I share with my GI and GP, not likely, its fir me.
I'll keep in mind what you say about the testing and use the results as a guide. It would be good to know about heavy metals because I live in the old part of town and posdibly served by lead mains. The pipes to my house are copper or PVC. As a result we don't use tap water for drinking ir cooking. My pets also get still spring water. Our previous water supply was in a rural location and we had a mad old man in charge if the dam. He ysed to throw buckets of Alum into the dam daily - as a result the water came out the taps milky white. That is when we switched to bottled water. Alum has been thought to cause dementia or altsheimers.
I ordered the York initial test but I'm such a booby I haven't been able to prick my finger, my partner needs to do it for me. I have a GP appointment soon so will ask to be referred to an allergy specislist. I really feel thats the right place to start.

We just buy drinking and cooking water now.
I posted my hair sample and samples of feather and fur to see if any of my friends at home are causing me a problem. My Moluccan Cockatoo is a powder bird - we have a big air purifier in his room that catches a lot of his dust.
I'll post my results here when they arrive back in about a week or so. Fingers crossed its helpful!

Hello Tex & Gabes..........
My partner and I both know these tests might have no real benifits but decided I should do them anyway, just in case something is pointed to that we have not thought about.
As far as the reviews and references go on websites, we know they could be written by the company or someone paid to give glowing reviews. Maybe I'm cynical, I take things on face value, don't judge till I have experience. I tried to find the company address by checking the post code, it's slightly dodgy, we think it's someone collecting samples on behalf of a laboratory. The address is a post box. The identity of the laboratory is not shown.
We'll see what pops out!

Interesting.....
were you eating Beef, or carrots, or eggs??
The deficiency list intrigues me.. I have never heard of lignans before... (googling it now)
were you also getting list of any possible metal toxicity issues??

Yes, I was eating all those things. I added broccoli yesterday before realising it may be a problem.
Although I don't have D anymore I still have vague low abdominal discomfort and very constipated. The GI doctor offered to refer me to a Registered Dietitian, I have requested this now.
The metal testing did come back but I couldn't put it in the post because I need to add the photo of the result . Don't know how to add a photo. I have now transcribed it.
