Changes Made on the Domestic Front after MC

Post by HappyBird »

I thought it might be interesting to list the changes I have made at home after my devastating MC flare lasting eight or nine weeks. My partner was badly affected by my sudden deterioration into a listless, labile mess and my needing to be up all night sitting in or near the bathroom.

We share the household chores and the care of our four parrots and 2 pampered pooches. When I became so ill and exhausted my tiny Black Headed Caique began plucking nd refusing her food - this distresed me further. She is very fond of me and began to believe both of us were slowly dying. My dogs became depressed and stopped playing as they normally do. My sudden MC flare was a life changing experience and because of this my partner and I are changing things at home nd the reasons for the changes. As we change things I plan to return and update this thread.

I'm not advocating this as necessary, essential or even necessary for anyone else, we have chosen this for ourselves.

Air Monitoring :
We live on a very busy road which sometimes become a rat run when the nearby motorway is blocked by acidents or flooding. In the UK most homes are double glazed except the very old ones in original condition - my house! We have sash windows that allow air and very tiny critters in when the windows are closed. They all open. The heating bills are higher than average because of our leaky windows.

AIR MONITOR- Extech CO2 monitor - we take it to bed at night and to the living area during the day. I have started recording the CO2 readings. The first night we found the bedroom was lowish when ee went in but soon rose over the danger limit. Simply opening the dressing room door the levels returned to normal levels.

The bad air in the bedroom has possibly been the cause for my sluggish early mornings starts and constantly feeling less than my best.
