Where am I at.........Where to Next!

Post by HappyBird »

I have now been on my elimination diet for going in seven weeks........

My diet is more varied but at this moment I can't judge my progress so need objective advice. My WD was replaced by mainly Bristol 1, 2 & sometimes, very seldom by 3 & 4. Does this constipation tell a story?

My hydration is tricky, I drink 2L of fluids per day, mostly still bottled spring water and two cups of coffee to prevent migraine headaches. My urine is not always as pale as I would like.
The skin on my inner firearms remain crinkly, something that only happened during my eight week flare but has never gone away.

Is it possible that I am not absorbing properly through my gut even though I don't have WD? I don't feel terribly hungry all the time anymore but I feel the fluids are not absorbing properly.

Please suggest a safe vegetable for me
Currently on: Carrots, corgettes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, Lamb, beef(tiny bits), turkey, pheasant.

Tomorrow I want to start sushi rice cooked in lamb broth.

I drink green tea in the morning for the caffeine. I eat a lot of jasmine rice. Can you eat green beans? Have you tried any lotion or cortaid on your arms? My mom has been making magnesium lotion for me. I swear by it, I have lower back aches from a cracked pelvis (car wreck, metal plate and screws) and it relieves that pain when I rub it on that.

I have a lot of lamb broth in my freezer, but cooking it gagged me. The smell was awful, I've yet to try it.

Yellow squash and zuchini are generally safe. Over cooked of course.

Was constipation the norm before your MC symptoms began? If not, then you may just need more healing time, or you may need to adjust your diet to help prevent the constipation, or both.

Hello Tex..........No, I did one Bristol 4 every day at about the same time. Regular as clockwork. I think I need more fibre in my diet.

Thanks Brandy.........zucchini is corgette - we use the French and in the USA you use Italian. I forgot to add pumpkin, I started eating it around Halloween. I'd really love broccoli though.

Thanks Crevin........please tell me the recipe for your Mums magnesium cream. I'll use it. My skin is naturally dry, it's a psoriasis thing. I did lose about 6Kg over the MC flare but my skin has always been taught and smooth, hope these aren't wrinkles - that can't be ruled out though.

Jen,

Fiber should help as long as you tolerate it well.

Broccoli is generally safe for MCers. Some of us have problems with it because it causes gas, but for those who are able to purge the gas, broccoli usually works well. For those of us who cannot get rid of the gas, it can add to the misery.

I use psyllium daily now, and it has helped with my constipation of the last two months.

Hi Tex and Linda.........

I'm not inclined to bloating, thank heavens. Today I added rice to my diet, my next addition must be brocolli in a few days time. I do love vegetables but miss fruit. I feed my birds

Thanks for the link Linda - I'll keep it in mind but first want to make an effort at more fibre. I eat like a bird - all my life dietitions have told me I'm not eating enough. When I eat out I very rarely finish my food unles I share a portion or help myelf at the buffet. When I see how much other folk eat I'm always a bit shocked.

I wonder if people who eat at my place stop off to pick up a hamburger on the way home -
