low right side abdominal ache

Post by mjbonsais »

I tried to find someone who may have had an issue like this. It comes and goes but I have a low backache goes into my buttox but have this colicky ache from time to time. By the way, since I have been watching my diet and taking D3 and using magnesium spray I have not had diarrhea! Need to drink much more H2O! I drink way too much coffee at work. I know it is an irritant. Thank you all!

Those symptoms are fairly common with MC. They should fade away as your improved diet allows your digestive system to heal.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I had one on my left side up around my rib cage that I thought would never go away, and I even drove with my left hand on my side for the longest time. My husband told me that when I sat down, my left hand was always on my side so he knew when I hurt. One day about 2 1/2 - 3 months after cleaning up my diet and things remaining stable, it went away. It only comes back if I eat something I shouldn't. Sometimes those pains move around. It's a very normal part of our disease, and it won't last forever. I know sometimes it seems like that, but once you keep your diet clean for awhile, it'll go away.

I just came from my pcp because I always think more is going on. She checked my thoroughly and she asked if I had any tingling my response was a true NO. She said it was intestinal. Low fiber and continue to stick to my diet. She said if it's not better in a week or so to come back in. I told her my diarrhea has improved and I am sticking to my diet of no gluten, milk, eggs, yeast or oats! Thank you all for your kind responses.

lower back pain

Post by Goesalot »

I also have a low back pain right above my buttocks. It isn't there all the time. I had a feeling that it was from the colitis. I am glad the question was asked because now as my diet improves I will see it goes away completely.
thank you for your question and response

You are welcome. I don't think the pa today knows all about microscopic colitis. She didn't see my low backache connected with my abdominal issue? I told her about this web site and how my symptoms are connected to MC. Maybe I am a crazy patient but my back and butt soreness wasn't sciatica because there was no tingling. Good grief I wish I'd never strayed from my diet to begin with. Down on myself. I was eating cheese, gluten free bread that contained eggs and yeast. Those are intolerances that I know are problematic for me. I hope Tex is right, that I'll feel better with time.

Prior to my MC Dx, there were many occasions in my adult life where i was bed ridden with cramping pains. This mostly happened when I was overtired and stressed. ( i following a mostly gluten free, lactose free eating plan for 9 years or so before my Dx)

Since Mc Dx, and following the strict eating plan, they have never occurred again...

symptom free days, and long term wellness is worth the sacrifice and effort.... sticking with you safe eating plan, eating lots of low inflammation gut healing meals will make a difference. in line with Tex's post that the medical fraternity are acknowledging there is no 'CURE' for crohns etc. your best option as a foundation for your long term wellness is sticking with the safe eating plan.
as we age, and if we have ongoing nutrient deficiencies, our bodies ability to heal will reduce and recovering from eating the wrong things will take longer...

lesson learnt... you have the reminder that eating those ingredients will cause symptoms...

you are welcome, :flowersmiley:

I share info in hope that i can help people avoid chronic AI issues down the track.....

sticking with the eating plan is a big lifestyle change.... it takes time, patience, and we have to do the mental and emotional work of acceptance of living life with MC...
