Nose bleed, new symptom and rather worrying
I'm sorry that I keep posting but I've noticed in the last week or so that if I blow my nose I get some blood , think it may be from both nostrils but not 100% sure. I'm rather worried about this new development and wonder what it could mean?

No apolgies for posting, ask whatever you want as iften as you like.
We all have superficial blood vessels in our noses, some people have more problems with blood on the tissue after blowing especially when we have head colds, allergies, hay fever etc. We all blow our noses differently, maybe you are blowing your nose very hard. It happens to me too when my sinuses get blocked.
A small amount of blood is acceptable, if your nose bleeds excessively and takes time to stop, in some cases doesn't stop on its own, this is called epistaxis. Epistaxis needs investigating and may even need a visit to A&E so that the doctor can cauterise a blood vessel or pack the nose to stop the bleeding.

I live in London which is not dry really and on top of that you can't get a lot more humid than in the shower, bit strange how something new has started within the last week, only happened three times in total. Just get freaked out by change, especially as so much has changed in the last 3 months since start of D.
I've known for awhile that a food can cause me to bleed, particularly from my gums but also with nose bleeds. Eating pork and pork gelatin can cause bleeding for me. I've not known what to make of it as I can get the gut well eating pork. My energy levels have never been good though when eating porcine.

similar for me, when I had excess mucus from histamine inflammation etc i would have some bleeding when I blew my nose...
I would call it 'gunky nose' all part of the process of ongoing inflammation and excess mucus
low inflammation eating plan and good doses of Vit D3 will resolve this...

Jim,
In line with the responses above, when histamine/mast cells are involved , just as the mucosal lining of the intestines are inflamed, the lining of the blood vessels can also become inflamed. This causes most blood vessels to dilate, which makes them thinner, tender, and more easily damaged/ruptured, especially those that are close to the surface. This is why hemorrhoids often become a problem during an MC flare, and it's why the blood vessels in our nose can bleed when our histamine level is up.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I think I can attest to this theory also...I have been having a bit more nose bleeding, not bad just more noticeable than usual so I think I need to stop enjoying anymore Thanksgiving foods and get back to the normal diet again. Plus it has been quite cold in the Pacific Northwest and dry feeling so I imagine that contributes to the over all dry thin lining in the nose too.

I have nose bleeding from the allergies. Sneezing can cause it and then vacuous circle last week a got a saline solution from the GP and it has helped. They out a camera into my nose and I got the full colour picture! You could see clearly the broken blood vessel. I had a sinus scan to rule out anything unpleasant.
As with my mention on pork causing me to bleed, I thought to try an experiment and avoid pork again. I've done so the last few days. First to say, I've done very well of late with my gut health for a few months. The biggest problem for me during this time has been very poor energy, and a tender gut. I've attributed my improved gut to the current diet of avoiding beef, dairy and capsule gelatin which is made form beef and pork bones, but realize the MC improvements I've seen could also be due to other changes I made such as eating fish gelatin, taking DHEA, eating cashew which are high in minerals, and grounding more frequently.
So I avoided pork meat completely the other day, I had already been avoiding pork gelatin to begin with. There it was, the good energy I've been missing. A few days isn't long enough to say thing for sure, but I'm hoping this good energy feeling remains. My gums have improved also, being less tender and bleeding less. I know from experience the bleeding should stop altogether by the end of the week.
On the bleeding, for me I've felt it could be related to two areas, IBD disease which is where people bleed, and type 2 diabetes where periodontal or gum disease and frequent urination is a common sign. (Along with the bleeding I would need to urinate frequently. I figured that had to do with a swollen gut retaining water, but maybe it is pre diabetes. Who knows.) Type 2 Diabetes is historically connected with raised blood sugar levels, but some studies the last few years have found lowering blood sugar levels does not stop the complications found with type 2 diabetes such as gum disease, nerve damage, kidney disease, poor circulation, etc.
