The dreaded gluten
Good evening. Well, in spite of all of my good efforts I was glutened on the day before Thanksgiving. I take my own food everywhere so I had no worries for my Thanksgiving meal. I am still trying to figure out what happened, but I believe it was in my own kitchen by my son. He was home from college for a week and while I cooked dinner every evening he was in the kitchen at breakfast and lunch doing who knows what. On Wednesday I started with a headache (which is typical for me if I ingest gluten) and then my stomach hurt. I no longer get D, which is great but the left-side pain was very bad on Thanksgiving evening. I had to use the heating pad. I also forgot what brain fog is like. So other than not letting him come home from college anymore I will take better care in cleaning the counters and using my own containers, pans, etc. By Sunday I was feeling pretty much back to normal. On a brighter note, I purchased lamb chops that were reduced to half price at the grocery store today. That was my first experience with lamb and I like it.

Hi Marcia,
That's a heck of a note, but you're probably right about how it happened. That's good that the effects didn't last for more than a few days.
Finding a new food that works and tastes good is definitely a good day.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hello Marcia.........
So sorry to hear about your setback, I know that pain and dread it so much and also find comfort from a heating pad. Hope you are back to your best soon.

Sorry about the gluten.
(Stories like this make me appreciate my 'solitary' living )
albeit the fact that there was no D, is a good indicator of the progress with Gut Healing.
more importantly yeah for half price Lamb and that you liked it!!

Hi. Thank you, I'm pretty much back to normal. He came home again this weekend for a funeral so I just have to watch that he doesn't poison me again!
