Examples of Your Bland Diet

Post by crervin »

Hey guys, this may be posted already and I haven't found it, but can you tell me what you eat (bland wise)? I'm so bored with my diet and at a loss about what to try.

I have eaten turkey, uncurred bacon (I love it, ate too much), rice, and potatoes since October. Recently I added hamburger meat (occasionally), frozen cauliflower (I do good with it), frozen green beans (not too many and I'm fine), not so good with frozen carrots (maybe I didn't cook them long enough). Sadly, sweet potatoes I couldn't eat even when I was normal for gas.....

I really need multivitamins preferably in food.

Thank you all! If it's already out here, please let me know.

Martha,
Not sure I can offer much help. I have been living on the same 4-5 safe vegetables (well well cooked in bone broth) and my safe proteins for almost 6 years...

If you are still having symptoms then I would be cautious about trying too many new things...

I have the well cooked veges with safe protein for breaky.
Stew/soup for lunch
And the same veges with safe protein for dinner.
Only use salt for cooking.

I only drink water, and black coffee first up in the day

For snacks/meals on the go; rice protein drinks, potato chips (soy free), pre cooked meats.

At first it was hard, after about 6 months, the need for other ingredients faded. Having my safe meals, in a routine that suited me, minimal symptoms I was at peace with it...

Protein wise I am lucky that I have variety of safe proteins, that are reasonable available.
Getting pieces of meat on the bone and roasting them in the oven with the veges makes yummy meal.
Doing fish cooked in coconut oil, and chips (using safe veges as the chips) cooked in rice bran oil has nice flavour.
Using coconut amino (savoury sauce) can make soups and stews more flavoursome.
As histamine is no longer an issue for me, I am enjoying some avocado (only 1-2times a week as it is a sometimes food
once a month as a treat I will make Gabe safe pancakes with lemon and coconut sugar... (Can't do too much processed flours) or have a Gabe safe cake type thing.

Nutrient wise, don't focus on that for now. The priority is getting the gut healed and digestion functioning better.... You Won't fully absorb and process the nutrients until the gut is healing.

Hang I there.... I know it is tough.... That is where the mental and emotional acceptance comes in....
With my combo of issues, my current eating plan is pretty much for life.... I am at peace with that...

Thanks you Gabes! I could cook Cornish hen in the oven. I've been cooking turkey breast in crockpot. I need to make stews and put it over my rice. Strangely though, I don't crave anything but salt on food now.

I cook my meats in the bone broth and salt , sort of broil it.... Keeps it moist and flavoursome. Easier to eat cold.

It is early days to an extent with you.. With your travelling and hayfever there was loads of inflammation at first.
I can't remember, have you had your Vit D3 checked? How much vit D3 are you taking per day.
It can take 8-16 weeks to fix deficiencies....

Last time I checked it was 45 (oct). I haven't taken vit d3 in 2 weeks, still waiting on bloodwork from my allergy dr. They promised me Thursday the dr would call me with results. My vit d was fish oil, and I couldn't determine if my allergy was to fish or shellfish. The dr told me to stay clear until we compared bloodwork to skin test. I bought some with lanolin and I believe it caused gut upset, so I was going to try it again in a couple of days.

Thank you, that's what I will do with the broth. Luckily I have been taking Zyrtec liquid and that doesn't seem to bother me. All other antihistamines bother me, there has to be corn in them.

I got some methionine, but haven't tried it yet. Can you take it while taking an antihistamine?

I have taken some the old school chlorpheniramine maleate while having the methionine.

With recent dental work, I had a Bit of inflammation stress... And I took one so I could enjoy a wine treat on my birthday...

Martha,

As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between methionine and any antihistamines.

I can't help on menu ideas. I eat the same few foods all the time, also.
