We shouldn't have ANY TRANSfats in our diets! No amount is good for you.
This includes the oils that we heat past the smoke point as that makes them hydrogenated, is my understanding.
There is NO minimal amount of TRANSFATS for human consumption whereas a small amount of sat and unsaturated fat is allowed and actually necessary in the human diet.
This is why we've gotten so unhealthy on all this processed and fast food that has increasingly taken over our diets from the more natural stuff we ate as kids. I hope this will soon be reversed, but from what you've so kindly informed us with this site, I'm afraid the public has been bamboozled again, but perhaps the technology will catch up, and the requirements not be to far behind. Let's hope so!
