Methyl- or Adenosyl Cobalamin

Post by Lilja »

Hi,

Someone told me that we should adenosylcobalamin in stead of methylcobalamin, to avoid aggression derived from methylcobalamin. Is this true?

Gabes: I'm sure you have som input here :-)

Lilia,

I'm not Gabes obviously, but I see no reason why either form would not be satisfactory. Exactly what is the nature of the "aggression" that is claimed to be caused by methylcobalamin?

Thank you "Gabes" :-)

Aggression in the meaning that some claim they get so easily angry, and some claim that they get "wired" of methylcobalamin. Maybe that's why I'm shouting at people... No! I don't

Based on my research, and personal learnings...

Some people need both forms of B12, (Based on my methylation cycle results I am one of those people)

Also I did not tolerate the methyl B12 very well until I fixed other deficiencies/issues with the methylation cycle. My functional doctor said it is the last thing to get added when they are doing methylation cycle corrections as many react to it.

Not just in MC world, in the Pyrrolle forum as well, things like active B12 are items that are best to start low low dose and work up gradually

Lilia,

I certainly don't claim to be an expert on vitamin B-12, but I have never noticed that methylcobalamin had any affect on my (or anyone else's aggressive tendencies one way or the other. I can name at least 2 minerals (electrolytes) however, that I'll guarantee will make me or anyone else significantly more aggressive/hostile/belligerent when they are deficient. They are potassium and magnesium.
