Just looking at map and options
would there be places in Memphis that would sell that sort of stuff?

Memphis would have options, it's just not a city I feel comfortable driving in. There is constant construction and the traffic is horrible! Little Rock is next at two hours away....I may do some research for my next trip there.....I would just be sure to have my cooler.
Until then, I'll do some checking locally and see what I can find. I'm baking cornish hens tomorrow and will make some broth with those bones.
Thanks so much!!!!

My large batch lasts me about 7-8 weeks...
I am not a big city gal either so understand totally!
and I am very lucky that these types of things are readily available within 30 minute drive in a town that is the same size as yours.
any good joint bone of any animal works...

You're mighty right about Memphis. About 10 or 11 years ago I had to go to Selmer, TN to pick up a truck that I bought in an Internet auction. We were making great time until we got to Memphis and encountered a construction detour. But before we got back to the interstate, we encountered another detour, and that's where things began to fall apart. After we made a huge loop on city streets the second time, it dawned on us that we were driving in a big circle. There was no way to get back to the interstate highway. Every opportunity was blocked. We finally stopped and asked for directions at a small auto parts store, and even following their directions, we ended up back at the same now-familiar territory. We had already killed about an hour and a half wandering through that endless loop, and we certainly didn't want to spend the rest of our life there, so we took a chance and ignored the directions we had been given and just headed east, and miraculously, we finally got out of Memphis.Terre wrote:Memphis would have options, it's just not a city I feel comfortable driving in. I dreaded Memphis on the way back, because I certainly didn't want to have to go through all that foolishness trying to maneuver a big truck through all those city streets, but mercifully, there were no detours in the westbound traffic. Hallelujah! Yep, driving around Memphis ain't my favorite passtime either.
