I May be Coeliac according to MRI scan

Post by Jimbo1968 »

Hi all according to MRI I had the other week I may have Coeliac, I need a biopsy done for formal diagnosis through. Firsty I don't understand why it kept coming back negative in blood test. Also is there any other supplements or vitamins I should be taking on top of D3, Magnesium, B12.

Jim,

The celiac screening blood tests have such low sensitivity that they yield false negative results for over 80 % of celiacs. They're pretty much worthless tests, IMO.

Those 3 vitamins are the ones that we are most likely to be deficient in. Most of the others we can get from our diet, even while reacting.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

My thoughts on this, is they are basing this diagnosis based on Villi damage - which we have previously discussed.

if you were having dairy until recent weeks, and only stopped gluten and other major triggers the few weeks before xmas, the result of this MRI gives the indicator that there is still a bit of healing to happen..

It is very very common for people to test negative to the blood test. I would estimate that 80% of the people here have tested negative to coeliac blood test, but from symptoms and things like enterolab testing, know gluten is a major trigger to inflammation and villi damage.

This guy is currently speaking at big conference currently happening in Australia at the moment

he has written ALOT of articles about why the coeliac blood test is not working - and non coeliac gluten sensitivity

the other aspect you might find interesting is the research by Dr Fasano

and I posted this story in December - it was a good program about why we struggle to digest wheat

part of the issue with the medical fraternity is that Grain, Wheat, Dairy are all part of the Govt controlled 'healthy diet plan'. Unless you test allergic to wheat and dairy, doctors will continue to recommend to patients to eat them as their is no 'medical basis' for you not to. as we have discussed the current testing does not meet requirements.

And while IBS/IBD's continue to be a 'money spinner' for big pharma and the demand for expensive medications is there. the system

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan's (http://www.healthcare.frost.com) Analysis of the Expanding U.S. Market for Gastrointestinal Disorders Prescription Pharmaceuticals research finds that prescription pharmaceuticals indicated for IBD and IBS earned revenues of approximately $4.26 billion in 2011 and estimates this to reach $7.70 billion in 2017. The analysis finds that the growth is aided by an expansion of the market for biologicals and the introduction of efficacious new therapies.
