Changing Topic Titles?

Post by HappyBird »

Hello Tex..........

Are you able to change the title of one of my threads to a more appropriate title that can be where I post all my future questions.

When I first came to the firum I didn't think too much - (had the fog), about keeping some continuety and a quick place to find all my posts at a glance.

My posts are here:

http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... ht=#175041

I would like to call the thread something else, a more inclusive name for all my questions.
I plan to ask all future questions here so it needs to embrace the past and the future. Failing that can I transfer all my posts from there to my Journey Thread?

Hope this is possible!

Hi Jen,

Well, yes I can do that, but discussion forums work best if each question has it's own topic/thread. That way someone searching for specific information in that thread can use the search function to (usually) go straight to what they are looking for, rather than having to wade through page after page of possibly unrelated information that's all contained in a single long thread. That doesn't apply to journals of course, since they are obviously intended to serve as a detailed, relatively complete record of the progress of an experience or event.

But I'm here to help, so if you want the name changed I will certainly change it. What do you want to call it? How about "Happy Bird's Questions"? Or alternatively, I can move any posts in the thread to your "Journal", if you will tell me which ones you want moved.

Thanks Tex........

The title at the moment doesn't reflect the content beyond the first question and couple and answers.

I would be happy for you to transfer the questions that come after my initial one about

"Intolerance Testing Group.............Has anyone heard about."

I'm happy for you to transfer at your descretion. I do answer and get involved in other posts, its inly my questions & replies that I would dearly love to keep in my journal. After you have done this I'll ask questions from there. I do understand about everyone accessing questions, most if mine have been asked and covered numerous times before.

Are you happy with that, otherwise I could copy & paste everything into a journal off the forum. Also an option.

Hi Jen,

I don't have any objections to doing that. After all, the purpose of this forum is to help members to make life easier. Just be aware that many members rarely (or never) read the journals (nor many of the other less frequently used forums), so you may find it necessary to post questions on the Main Message Board if you want to maximize the opportunity to query the maximum number of members. I can always move those posts also, if you prefer.

Thanks Tex......

I would like you to chnge the thread to "HappyBirds Questions" as you suggested. I'll then copy & paste my posts and answers to a notebook on my computer for ease of access for myself. I think that's best for the forum and me.

I moved most of the posts in that thread to your journal earlier today, as you requested. The system enters them according to date posted. Do you want me to move them back?

Jen
a suggestion - you can always copy the text from the posts so it is in both places?
