Jovial GF brown rice pasta
Last night I tried Jovial Capellini GF brown rice pasta (100% organic whole grain). Ingredients are organic brown rice flour, water. I really liked it.....are there any issues that would keep me from eating it?
Thanks,
Terre
PS: It does say that they process soy ingredients in their facility. My EnteroLab Fecal Anti-soy IgA was 4 units (normal range is less than 10 Units).

Based on your EnteroLab soy test result you shouldn't have to be concerned about traces of soy. The main problem some of us have with brown rice is the fiber content. Many of us cannot tolerate significant amounts of foods that have a relatively high fiber content. The primary difference between brown rice and white rice is that the white rice has the hull removed during processing, which cuts its fiber content way down.
Fiber does not cause antibody production, it simply irritates the gut when the intestines are already inflamed. That's why most of us only eat white rice these days.

Terre,
I didn't mean to imply that you might not be able to tolerate the brown rice. We all have different fiber tolerance thresholds that continue to grow as we heal. You may do well with the brown rice. If it doesn't cause any obvious problems, I wouldn't be concerned about it.
I just brought it up as a possible explanation in case you should have symptoms from it.

Thanks Tex and Gabe. Tex I will keep an eye on any issues (or additional issues)....thanks so much.
Gabes, I also miss the tomato enhanced sauce and cheese....matter of fact that is what my husband had with regular pasta. I had GF pasta with bone broth, turkey from roasting turkey legs, chopped broccoli and added salt and a little garlic powder (which is my new friend)....so it was kind of soupy, but not bad. I was thrilled to have the pasta which made it even better.
Thank you for your replies!

Terre,
If you can tolerate garlic, you should be able to tolerate garlic salt. I use garlic salt as my only seasoning on many foods. It really brings out the flavor in some foods, such as pork, for example.

Garlic salt is simply salt with the addition of garlic and garlic oil (plus calcium silicate to prevent it from caking). I usually use McCormick brand. I use it in place of salt for many foods.
You're very welcome,
