Somehow I came across this old thread. I loved your comments and your sense of humour. I will have to give some thought about what I love about having MC. I just loved the positive comments on this thread

Love it all!
My reason for thanks is that I can offer support and insight to my son who has UC. He has yet to adopt the appropriate diet which has been difficult for me but without my years of struggling, I would never even begin to imagine what it's like. Granted, UC and MC are not the same but the basis of diet applies to both.
Plus, in a one toilet household, all I have to do is "get that look" and everone clears out of the way. I always have first dibs on the bathroom, no matter what. My family is sweet enough to offer apologies to me for using the bathroom.

Ditto to what everyone else said
My MC has taught me to not sweat the small stuff....
All we really truly have is the present moment
We have a choice in how we deal with the stress in our lives
I now know how to set healthy boundaries with people
I've learned to be my true self through this process
Sadly it did not take my cellulite..

This thread is wonderful! While I have nothing to add that hasn't been said, wrap it all up in a bow and that's how I feel. I am a different person since my diagnosis. I never really thought that I took my life for granted but I am so much more appreciative of everything now - especially all of my Potty People friends!

I decided I do not love having MC but I do love some of the lessons I have learned through having this disease. These are just some of them:
I will never take good health for granted again.
I appreciate the simple things in life like being able to take a walk down the beach or in the park.
I realise how truly amazing God has made our bodies.
I don't get upset about the things that really don't matter.
I appreciate my wonderful husband, family and friends and the support they give me.
I am happy that I am on a healthier diet. And I hope after more healing I can include more healthy food. I don't miss the junk too much...
I am thankful for the wonderful country I live in and that we have a good health system even though it does have its flaws.
I am thankful for the weight I have taken off as a result of having MC. I am thankful that my weight has now stabilised. I still have the cellulite and I have gained some wrinkles because of the weight loss but oh well
I am thankful for this website and for the nice people that are willing to help, support and share the wisdom they have learned about this disease.
And I am sure there are lots more.

Just back from A three day trip and first I have to give my DW A lot of credit for cooking all my meals we packed in A cooler and made it
A relaxing weekend but our son watched the dogs and left the bread open.
1- My DW cannot blame me for leaving the bread open.
2- My DW cannot blame me for leaving the toilet seat up.
3- My DW cannot blame me for no TP (5 rolls within arms reach)
