Five years later, colonoscopy result
It seems unbelievable, my GI doc says my colonoscopy is NORMAL!!! There is some erythema noted but apparently no CC. This is the same GI who did the original diagnosis.
I intend to remain on my modified Paleo diet, never eat gluten or soy, go easy on dairy and eggs, and never take remission for granted. Potty People deserve all the credit for helping me get well.
Thank you all!

That's awesome Sheila
I didn't realize that CC or LC could become so non existent in future colonoscopies That really does give us newbies something to be able to look forward to one day.
So happy for you!!

Erica, I knew remission was possible as well as a clear colonoscopy. However, it can come back! That happened to Dr. Polly after 10 years in remission. We can never get careless or take remission for granted.
Right now, I'm just so happy to hear the CC no longer detectable.

Sheila,
That's wonderful news! This site is so wonderful. I felt so hopeless when I joined and now 9 months later am feeling almost like my old self again, but like you, it's not worth eating anything I shouldn't! I believe it's due to the wonderful people on here and the support I always get when I need it and reading wonderful news like yours!

Sheila,
Good for you! You're obviously in control.
Thanks for the great update, and I hope your remission lasts forever. You've earned it.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Congratulations Sheila!!! I also know MC can be put into remission and be undetectable in future colonoscopies. I'm looking forward to that day. I was diagnosed almost 6 years ago, and have refused any further colonoscopies until I know things are better - this may be my year. I agree with you in that we can't take remission for granted. I (like you) will continue to be GF and DF and soy free (by choice) for the rest of my life. Not worth having all those symptoms return.
Again, WTG!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS SHEILA!!!!
that is great news, and fantastic milestone for all your hard work towards healing!

within 2 years of my MC (LC) Dx, a repeat colonscopy stated that my LC was in remission
albeit there was mast cell issues identified at that time (that were disregarded by the GI who did not know what mast cell issues were)
Since then I have had MC symptoms, these symptoms have had periods of being chronic when other health issues were in chronic state. Hence why my theory is that for some people with multiple health issues that MC is a symptom not the root cause.
also - there is a Post by Polly where her MC was in gone based on colonscopy biopsies. not long after, a major emotional event in her life, the MC came back in full force.
