Hello, new here and encouraged by all the support.
Hi,
I'm Liv, I am 35 years old. I have suffered from chronic fatigue/ diagnosed chronic Epsteins Barr about 10 years ago. I have had massive female issues, 3 years ago I had two hernias, one from my intestines and one from my rectum....in through the vaginal wall. When I went to the gyno they dismissed me, said to come back in 5 years, so I went to a colorectal surgeon who examined me and left the room and came back with my gyno on the phone and had a surgery date made before I walked out of his office. When my gyno did my hernia surgeries she was floored at the extensive loss of elasticity, she said she had never seen a woman my age with issues so significant.
I share this part because this is when I feel like my life as I knew it started to disappear. The recovery from this surgery was intense, but shorty after I began having more problems. This time I just felt bad, couldn't sleep and had severe anxiety. I went to see a Naturopath where I was diagnosis with MTHFR mutation, estrogen dominance, and vitamin d deficiency. I resolved most of my issues with supplements and diet. I have always had a sensitive stomach but a year ago I started bloating and having awful diarrhea, I am in college full time going for my BSN, this was making my life so tough. I went to dr after dr, and finally I got someone to listen to me at the Mayo clinic. They did a colonoscopy and took biopsies which led to my diagnosis of MC. Just yesterday I was diagnosed with another autoimmune, lechon sclerosis, so if everything else I have dealt with didn't make me feel unattractive, this last one was it... I am tired and I am sad. I do not know if this is all connected, is there something that they have missed? I feel paranoid. BUT I will not let all this take my joy, though today i am having a hard time, today I am very sick and I am feeling scared. Looking through all of the posts brings me hope that I won't always feel like this, and it is so nice to know I am not alone.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I look forward to reading more posts, an getting more insight.

Hi Liv,
Welcome to our Internet family. I'm sorry that you have so many autoimmune issues to deal with. They can't necessarily be undone, but they can be controlled, and with the right changes in your lifestyle, you may be able to prevent additional AI issues from developing in the future. Autoimmune diseases are caused by chronic inflammation. So the trick to controlling and preventing AI issues is to do whatever is necessary to stop the inflammation from being regenerated in our body. Most inflammation originates in the digestive system. There are 2 common causes of gastrointestinal inflammation — drug-induced and food-induced.
Most of us here have multiple AI issues, or at least we did at one time. Virtually all of us have food sensitivities that cause the inflammation that perpetuates our MC symptoms. The food sensitivities typically did not cause our MC initially, but once they develop, they cause the inflammation to be regenerated with each meal. If we avoid the foods that cause the inflammation, then our gut can heal. In the cases that are drug-induced, it's also necessary to avoid the class of drugs that triggers the disease. But interestingly, most of us find that after our intestines heal, most of our other AI symptoms also fade away, suggesting that they are associated with intestinal inflammation.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

welcome to the group
empathy on your situation and having to find us.
I feel your pain - I too was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosis a few years back - and understand what it is like to have multiple AI issues going on.
(my MC was dx'd when I was age 40 and the Lichen when I was 42)
the good news is there is a solution!!
With the right eating and lifestyle plan, fix nutrient deficiencies/imbalances things can improve.
there are some medication options that may help
the tricky part is that there is no quick fix or one size fits all type solution, it can take a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best for you...
albeit, based on the learnings of the group here we can give you short cuts and solutions that work for most.
grab a cuppa, do some reading of the discussions, ask questions.
once you have done 5 posts, you will be able to use the search function which is a great way to investigate topics that most interest you.

Gabes, I have to apologize for misleading you on that. For some unknown reason I had the system permissions on the search function mixed up with a security issue that I removed from the software a couple of years ago (pfoogle maps). The only excuse i can come up with for my corrupt brain activity is CRS (which is so often associated with MC).Gabes wrote:once you have done 5 posts, you will be able to use the search function

I also want to add, we have a couple of members that have multiple AI issues, MC and Lichen....
big indicator that your body has mega inflammation. Sadly mainstream anti-inflammatories (nsaids) do not work for this type of reaction and are mega harsh on your gut.
