Liquid Iron
I am anemic and know that the pill form of Iron can be pretty harsh on the GI tract. What about liquid Iron?
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Hi bluckii,
Not liquid iron--that made me react....the only iron I could tolerate was Proferrin and only just barely. http://www.proferrin.com/ It is heme based iron so more readily absorbable than the metals. It is made from centrifuged cows blood. Several folks on here have taken it. It is OTC but not cheap. It cost around $70.00 for $100.00 tablets. Walgreens and CVS can order this in for you and get it for you in a day or so. Suggested dose is 3 tablets per day. I could only tolerate 1 after lunch. MCers should take this after a meal. Problem with it is the artificial colors. I saw you have recently had nocturnal D. You might not tolerate this until you are better healed. Going by your previous post you might consider waiting 4-12 weeks before trying this out. If you test and react then retest 4 weeks later. Early on any kind of oral supplements are problematic for us.
I saw you are eating shrimp. Shrimp is high iron. google iron contents of protein and eat a lot, i mean a lot of protein over the next three months. Try for 5 servings of protein a day even if they are small. I concentrated on eating the proteins with the highest iron. Don't forget liver..........
Keep an eye on your iron blood work scores over the next two years.
