Any safe muscle relaxants to take?

Post by grhandlan@comcast.net »

Are there any safe muscle relaxants to take? I have been on Robaxin (small dose at night) for muscle spasms in neck and back-- I am newly diagnosed 1-2016, Have been trying to figure out my triggers, some days are better than others-- It's the only medication I take besides a little Tylenol once in a while-- anyone have any experience with this? thanks Gena

Gena,

Without adequate magnesium, muscles contract by default. Most muscle cramps, spasms, etc. are caused by a magnesium deficiency. Because the tests that doctors use to check magnesium blood levels give no indication of actual magnesium reserves in the muscles and bones, most people in the world today are magnesium deficiency. Doctors virtually never recognize magnesium deficiency problems. They're not trained to recognize diet and nuitrition problems.

I had a major magnesium deficiency problem last spring, that sent me to the ER, but the doctors there who examined me never figured out the problem. A couple of days later I downloaded my test results from the hospital and figured it out myself. After doubling my magnesium supplement, I was soon dong much better. Many medications (such as antibiotics and corticosteroids, especially) deplete magnesium reserves, so that IBD patients are almost always magnesium deficient unless they take substantial magnesium supplements.

I hope that this is helpful.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
