If ever proof were needed for Magnesium....
Having just once forgotten to take magnesium with me in frequent travels instead of buying new stuff I got careless and stupid. The result of just a week without it was the return of fibromyalgia and that awful muscle weakness. Actually it was WORSE then before. Possibly my dosage was t high enough anyway. In addition my bladder became troublesome which is interesting and my eyes more inflamed. So, NEVER AGAIN.

Interesting. I am still new at all this and just ordered liquid magnesian. Helps with Fibro? Amazing!! I don't have Fiber but extreme weakness in my legs. I use a cane or a walker to get around most places. I sure am happy your magnesian helps with your leg weakness. Maybe it will help me too. What is your dosage and how many times a day do you take it?
Your post was very encouraging.

Greengoddess,
Yes, as Dr. Chris Kresser points out, magnesium deficiency is often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia (because it causes the same symptoms). It can also cause many of the same clinical symptoms as diabetes. Like you, when I had the acute magnesium deficiency last spring, my bladder was almost constantly demanding attention, and I was always thirsty.
It appears that some/many of us are unable to restore our magnesium reserves, so we have to take supplements regularly or we will soon run out and get into trouble.
Thank you for your very informative post.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Sandi,
As I mentioned in my precious post, many people have been misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia when their problem is actually a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is stored in muscle cells. Magnesium is a critical electrolyte, so if the diet is deficient in magnesium, the body pulls magnesium from muscle cells to use in the blood in order to keep the blood level of magnesium in the normal range. When the muscle cells run low on magnesium, the muscles contract by default. This creates muscle weakness because they become very difficult to extend.

It may take a while before the problem is resolved, but you should be begin to see some improvement after a few days.
Good luck with this, and please keep us informed.
