Supplements Question

Post by Mrs. Poopy Jeans »

I'm about to put in my supplement order. Can anyone be specific with mags, D. & B? Vitamins? Should I be using a fiber supplement? What is the best kind of magnesian citrate I should use and mg. I saw liquid, powder and tablets. I've heard of topical magnesian, but didn't see that in my catalog....I usually order from Swanson's.

Oh, one food question...is sea salt and black pepper okay to use? I'm starting GF, DF, SF on Monday.

And FINALLY I got a call from the NP I was seeing. She admitted that they were fresh out of magic bullets for me so this is it. I'm done with her. At least she did give me a final diagnosis which I added to my signature..MC Lymphocytic.

Thanks again for help on the supplements. I'm very excited to get started.

PJ,
Here are some direct links to most advised Magnesium Topical and Internal:

http://www.vitacost.com/doctors-best-hi ... -tablets-2

http://www.vitacost.com/life-flo-pure-m ... oil-8-oz-3

http://www.vitacost.com/life-flo-magnes ... on-8-fl-oz

And some good VitD3 5000mg:

http://www.vitacost.com/source-naturals ... 0-capsules

A good B supplement when you don't WD anymore is:

http://www.vitacost.com/jarrow-formulas ... eggie-caps

If you find any of these elsewhere with safe ingredients go for it...for me I have to stay away from Gluten, Dairy, Soy and Egg so these items are the ones I am using. Pricewise I haven't been able to beat it with anyone else yet.
Cheers
Erica

Definitely not. That's another item where most doctors miss the boat because they don't understand the disease. When our gut is already inflamed from all the food reactions that are going on, fiber only adds to the irritation, because fiber is very abrasive to the lining of the intestines. Too much fiber in the diet can actually prevent us from reaching remission. Therefore, the less fiber we have in our diet, the faster we tend to recover. For example, if you eat rice, always choose white rice — brown rice contains to much fiber for most of us here.

After our gut has healed, then we can tolerate more fiber, and we can eat raw vegetables and salads without reacting to them.

Such a new way of thinking for me.
this is the mental and emotional side of life with MC

we have to 'delete' and reformat our hard drives - wipe away what we were told about nutrition and eating etc up to this point of our lives and embrace a whole new world
(picture alice in wonderland, down the rabbit hold and you enter a whole different world!! and with that - I am not inferring that Tex is the mad hatter  )

then just you start to wrap your head around this 'new world' you get lots of questions from family and friends about why you are doing what you are doing... its tough!

Have I gone Mad? I am afraid so
you're entirely BONKERS

Hey Marcia! Howdy do to you too. Just went grocery shopping and brought home a massive tri-tip roast. Cut it into 4ths each ready for the crockpot. Dinner for my first week.

I use this magnesium oil most often (and I believe so do many others on here as on here is where I got the recommendation)

http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Minerals- ... B001AD0HL8

I also like this one (it is more expensive, however):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XIT ... _it&sr=8-2

I use this Vitamin D3:

http://www.amazon.com/Bluebonnet-Vitami ... vitamin+d3

and this magnesium:

http://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Abso ... +magnesium

I have to have everything gluten, soy, dairy, and egg free, and all of the above are.................

You are most welcome. I kind of prefer Amazon as we have Prime so I don't have to pay for shipping and I get things more quickly. Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Has anyone had any luck with Juice Plus capsules? Since I cannot handle fresh vegetables I was hoping for an alternative.

That one has soy lecithin in it, Lilja.

That would be a definite no for me. I've been looking for a good one too, and haven't settled on one yet.
