Yoga!
This week was particularly stressful meeting a major deadline for work and then I was involved in a hit and run on Tuesday that resulted in extensive damage to my brand new, less than 200 miles on her, car.
Cue watery D.
I usually go to hot yoga 2-3 times per week, but skipped due to dehydration. I don't do yoga as a stress release, instead choosing power and deep stretch classes as a compliment to running.
Anyway moral of the story: I show up to yoga this morning, lay down, and my stomach starts gurgling. I have that tight pain across my mid section and I start to panic. I don't want to have an accident in yoga class! Then something amazing happened. Class started and within 5 minutes the pain was gone. I'm not rumbling anymore and I feel normal.
I think it was the stretching. Any insight?

That is a rotten way to start out a new auto ownership! Hope the repair work is handled well and quickly.
I don't have insight on yoga helping with MC. I have a relative though that for awhile was lobbing for me strongly to try yoga. She was sure it would help my stomach condition. I personally believe she was confused thinking I had a constipation IBS problem. That certainly isn't the case. So In the end I passed on yoga. I've known for awhile that for me using my stomach muscle, with exercise, lifting projects etc, will bring on a MC attack. I figured yoga wouldn't be different. With that said I haven't tried yoga though so I could be wrong.

multiple reasons -
yoga slows breathing and heart rate so is relaxing to whole of body
the stretching is good as it energises the body in a nurturing way
mindfullness for the mind, you are focussing on the poses / breathing

Sorry about the hit and run, but on the yoga. I have never done any form of yoga, but I am a strong believer that the negative effects of stress can trump virtually any situation for any MC patient. And I have no doubt that yoga in general is a very powerful stress relief agent. So I'm convinced that your MC symptoms responded favorably to the stress relief aspects of that yoga class.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I haven't taken yoga since the LC, but before it definitely helped me to feel better. I would imagine that the stretching alone would help your G.I. issues. I would love to start again, I have to find a class. I did have a massage this week for the first time in a year and that worked wonders, too.

Sorry about your accident! I started doing Hot Yoga once a week approximately 7 weeks ago. I am in remission now but was looking to increase my flexibility, balance and as a stress reliever. LOVE it so much so that I have started doing a 10-15 minutes sequence before bed that has really helped my sleep! I feel so good afterwards, like all of the toxins have left my body and it gives me a great energy boost.
Just wanted to update that I've been keeping up with the yoga and guts are still behaving themselves!
Work is still a mess and the police investigation for the accident went nowhere so I have to pay the deductible and jerkface gets away with hitting me, but my insides are working properly so yey!
I think I need to invest in more yoga classes.
