That certainly sounds like a plausible explanation. If only we could figure out why you had BAM. I'm assuming that your gallbladder is still intact.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

the other plausible theory Bearcat is biotoxins/parasites/bacteria. Colestipol/colestrymine is showing great success in treating people for these health issuesThe fact that I improved almost immediately once taking the Colestipol leads me to believe that my MC was most likely caused by bile acid malabsorption.

It is indeed still intact, as far as I know! It's too bad there really aren't any tests that can detect BAM as far as I'm aware of. I do experience a little more gas/bloating than I used to but I prefer that over stomach cramps and diarrhea.tex wrote:That certainly sounds like a plausible explanation. Possibly.. but I took every antibiotic and anti-parasitic medication known to man in order to treat all of those issues.. Xifaxan, Tinidazole, ciprofloxacin, Alinia.... they all showed improvement for a couple weeks but then I returned to stomach cramping and diarrhea.Gabes-Apg wrote:the other plausible theory Bearcat is biotoxins/parasites/bacteria. Dj,
I hope you are doing a little better today! I took rifixan prior to my MC dx. I was treated for"IBS" for 6 or 7 years. It was before my diet. It helped like Tex said for a couple of weeks, but from it I got a yeast infection that took almost 3 months to get rid of. I had never had a yeast infection before in my life. I wouldn't recommend it...
