Still confused about Tuna
I'm still confused about my enterolab result for tuna. It was a 1+ but my "most" reaction in the meat category. My overall score for the antigenic foods was a 10. I do not eat tuna ever. I have eaten salmon maybe once in the last year. I do eat tilapia and occasionally flounder. Would these be where my positive result came from? I realize my score was very low compared to most others but I would like to use the information gathered from enterolab to improve my diet. As always, thanks again! Denise
Hi Denise,
I'm certainly no expert on fish sensitivities, but I doubt that eating tilapia and flounder would affect your tuna result on that test. You should be able to tolerate those species OK. With an overall score of only 10, a 1+ rank for tuna is sort of a moot point. It's within the realm of statistical irrelevance. I would avoid tuna if I wanted to absolutely minimize risk (since I don't much care for tuna anyway), and if I craved to eat it I would try it to see how it goes.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
