Green Tea, Honey & Rice Question
Every morning I have one cup of green tea and I sweeten with a tsp. of honey. Could this cause issues? Occasionally (very seldom) I'll have a glass of unsweetened tea.....but main drink staple is water.
Also, what brand / type of rice do you use?
Thanks,
Terre

for most Honey is ok - although it can cause histamine issues for some... if you can get pure untreated /unheat treated honey it would be better (it also has good anti-bacterial properties and is good for the gut)
the other thing to check is your green tea. some herbal teas can have soy in them (sad but true) double check the ingredients and what the bag is made from
I use jasmine rice - less risk of GMO and grown where there is least risk of arsenic.
also keep in mind that Green Tea can stimulate the immune system.
it is tough that we can be soo sensitive and we have to check every single thing! the first 6 months of figuring out our MC management plan is a bit full on, be assured it does get better as things settle down...

I get my honey from a local beekeeper that sells in our area. I was hoping it was okay to use.
I use Bigelow Green Tea (certiifed organic for what that's worth). As far as ingredients, it only says organic green tea. No mention of what the bag is made of. According to EnteroLab, my Anti-soy IgA is 4 units (Normal Range is less than 10 Units).
Thank you for the jasmine rice information....I will look into purchasing some.
I'm just trying my best to see if I'm missing something that I'm eating/drinking that is causing me problems. I am still taking Cholestyramine twice a day, but still no improvement.
Thanks Gabes!

Hi, Terre. I drink Bigelow green tea and I don't have any issues with it. The green tea with lemon does have soy lecithin so I avoid it. I use organic honey for baking and I don't have any issue with it, either. I don't eat rice other than the organic rice roll ups that I buy at Costco so I can't help you with that.

Terre, I googled and they are available online. Bamboo Lane crunchy rice rollers. They are made with rice and brown rice syrup. They hit the spot when I want something crunchy. I saw some at the Dollar Store but they contained a lot of "junk" ingredients.
