A treatment without medication (with bunch of side effects), mainly for IBD, but also other autoimmune diseases. One study shows that 40% of UC patients goes into complete remission after 10day treatment (compared to placebo). That's far better than any other treatment.

for those that can afford it! - I dont see it being readily available for those of us on welfare and reliant on public health system in the next 5 years

(it is currently a 5 month wait for an initial GI appointment)

Gabes, what do you know of the pricing?

I know that is a cheaper treatment than with anti-TNFs.

Are you telling me that anti-TNFs is not available to the general population Australia?

I don't know about Australia, but in Sweden anti-TNFs is really common in the general population.

Like I said in the headline it will be available in 2017 (Sweden), I don't know about the rest of the world.

People with Lyme like illness (or other rare unusual conditions) have to do fundraisers /gofundme set ups, to get enough money to travel to europe to attain this treatment

and further, functional/integrative type doctors that are knowledgeable in this treatment area are rare and in demand.

for one, there is pressure and bullying on these doctors for going outside the norm. and they come under alot of scrutiny for the tests they order.

the functional doctor that I see, there are now 300 people on the wait list to start as a new patient as they are at their maximum, people with combo of 'interesting' health issues are travelling 3 hours each way to see them. I travel 2 hours each way to see them and it is a 4 week wait to get appointments.
NB in australia we dont have nurse practitioners or email contact with doctors.
