Kale

Post by terre »

Is kale okay to have? I guess it would be best in soups, sauteed, or steamed....not chips baked in the oven?

Thanks,

It might be too much fiber, depending on where you are in your healing, but I'd start with a small amount that's well cooked and see how you do. I like it braised with broth, garlic and a splash of lemon juice.

Thanks Kristen....I was thinking as much. I just saw it at the grocrery and it sounded good, but I'll hold off. Thanks for the tip on how you like it.

Terre,

We have several members who have done well with kale chips. If you do a search of the archives you should find many threads where they are mentioned. Here's an example:

Food for thought Tex! I'll look into the archives.....I used to do oven baked kale chips quite often...but it's been awhile.

Thanks,

If you miss kale in salads you could try baby kale. I find it easier to digest than the grown up variety. Maybe less fibre?
