Lilja,

I believe that chronic inflammation is a primary factor in heart disease. By changing your diet, you have made an important improvement in your health. Your ancestors probably had no idea what was causing their increased risk.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thank you, Tex. Yes, I think you're right; of course chronic inflammation must be stressful for the heart.

My brother died from a heart attack on his 50th birthday. He was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy a few years before. He had it from birth but it was not diagnosed until he passed out at work. They said a child born with a heart like his today would have a heart transplant. Ironically he was the most athletic of my four brothers and lived an active life.
