Post by mjgarr »

I have LC. I am thinking of trying a Gluten free diet. Is there a book that will tell me exactly what too eat?

there are lots of books about gluten free and grain free - they are not necessarily suitable as a basis for a MC eating plan, due to the many things that are triggers for MC inflammation

my advice is to not have too much processed gluten free items (breads, cereal, cookies etc) as the blend of flours used can cause issues for many if we have too many servings.
a good basis for the eating plan is well cooked protein and safe veges (most people can have white rice) bland, (ie salt and pepper only)

there are lots of posts and discussions on the forum with meal ideas, snack ideas if you do some reading/searching

There are also lots of eating plans based on Auto Immune support (lyme disease, Wahls protocol. dave asprey bullet proof radio) these have some good foundations, but the salad and fruit component is not ideal for MC as it is too much fibre

the reason why we dont have a strict 'MC eating plan' guideline, is that everyone is different. each person has to figure out their safe ingredients and base their eating plan on that. Also- what ingredients are available to each person is different, what food items you have in America, is different for Europe, Australia etc.

hope this helps

Hi,
Here is a post of names of gluten from Jean a member here http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... hlight=soy

It's very informative....as there is no magic list to tell us where gluten is not we have to read labels like crazy and be somewhat schooled on some of the verbiage of different names for gluten.

I started a post in the Main Message board at the top called "Need Input I'm not going to get from Dr." and it may be a beginning step for you.

I'm learning everything that tasted good with gluten in it was pretty much masked by sugar or salt of some amount.

Keep asking questions, you'll get there!
cheers
Erica
