Why won't juicing work?
I am dying for vegetables! I tried juicing, but wham! A serious no go. Why not? It takes the fiber out, right? I still can't eat over cooked vegetables either. I need help.
There are various possible reasons why juiced vegetables won't work for you. Juicing does not necessarily remove the fiber, and it also involves uncooked vegetables — we cannot tolerate raw vegetables while we are recovering. Some vegetables (such as tomatoes and eggplant, for example) are fruits, not vegetables. And tomatoes are loaded with citric acid. Most of us cannot tolerate citric acid while we are recovering.
But if you cannot tolerate vegetables in any form, then obviously they are not a healthy choice for you. Why not do what I have done for the past 10 or 15 years — eat something other than vegetables. The only vegetables I ever eat are potatoes. The old claim that we have to eat this food and we have to eat that food in order to be healthy, is BS. As many other members of this discussion forum have found, by cutting out all the "hyped" foods and eating more meat and fat, our PCPs are grinning from ear to ear, because our blood test results indicate that we are much healthier now (on a very limited diet) than we were back when we ate what we previously thought was a healthy diet that contained a wide variety of food. My doctor and his family now eat a restricted diet similar to what many of us here eat.
Meat is the only food that contains all of the essential amino acids. Most of the foods promoted by the "experts" are not actually essential for good health. They may be "OK", and they may be well-tolerated by most people, but remember that contrary to the claims of most experts, there are no "healthy" foods. Foods can be nutritious, and while they are growing they can be healthy, but once they are dead, and they become food, they are no longer healthy — they can only be nutritious (or not).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I agree with Tex, vegetables are not essential.
further: based on what we see with other members here, when people are really inflammed they can only handle 1-2 'safe vegetables' well cooked. if you are making a blend with too many ingredients or using vegetables that are not safe for you, then you will react.
if you really want to do vegetable juicing, my suggestion is, try the vegetables one at time (elimination diet style) bland, well cooked and see if you tolerate them. and once you know a few safe vegetables then maybe try them as juice.

Lizabelle, I loved vegetables in my former life. Now I only eat broccoli until the life is steamed out of it, steamed asparagus, zucchini and roasted carrots. I'm fine with this limited selection. If it keeps me from running to the bathroom it's all good. I now eat meat two times a day, it is the key to healing.
