BM Question

Did you increase the dosage? I think some even take in the morning and at night. But I couldn't figure out when to take my d3, so I just took it late at night. I think once it started coming out of my system my D returned. The D was worse but cramping was less, after I went to the bathroom. Today I really believe I had bile acid BMs after my med wore off. It was painful and burned. Oh well, we live and learn. I'm not for giving up totally though.

There is a lot on here about it. You can Google bile sequestrants, BAM, chloestyramine, welchol. Do you have your gallbladder?

With mostly Normans, I doubt that you have BAM. If you were having D because of BAM, it's very likely that every BM would be D. That said, cholestyramine might still stop the occasional D episode. But I agree with you that in view of the nutrient-robbing characteristics of cholestyramine, it's hardly worth putting up with to prevent an occasional episode of D.
Too much fat/oil could be the problem, or something else in your diet that doesn't quite agree with you. Maybe you're occasionally somehow getting cross-contamination in your diet.

I experienced BAM today. Now I know, ouch. Yea, I haven't had those very often. I clearly forgot what BAM was. It really was painful. I'm going to leave that alone

I consider millet to be a risky flour. It seems to have a bad reputation for getting cross-contaminated with gluten during the milling process. Have you seen this report from some spot checks made of millet flour on grocery store shelves a few years ago?
As you can see from the sampling results, the millet grain was OK (one below 20 ppm, the other slightly above), but the flour was obviously contaminated during the milling process with relatively high levels of gluten. This is what makes baked products so risky for people who are sensitive to gluten. This obviously doesn't mean that all millet flour is contaminated, but it does mean that it is obviously risky.

Contamination of naturally gluten-free grainsConclusions: Results of this study confirm that a certain percentage of inherently gluten-free grains, seeds, and flours are NOT gluten-free when they are purchased by consumers. Co-mingling of grain and seed can occur anywhere along the line from the field to the packaging plant.
Results also suggest that consumers can not rely on voluntary allergen advisory statements for wheat to make decisions about which products are more or less likely to be contaminated. Four of seven products containing greater than or equal to 20 ppm gluten did not contain an allergen statement for wheat while three of the products that contained below the limit of quantification for gluten did contain an allergen advisory statement.
While we can infer from this study that some degree of contamination exists in naturally gluten-free grains, seeds, and flours sampling was not large enough to make any assessment on the overall percentage of contaminated product.
Sampling also was not large enough to make any inferences on the specific grains, flours, and seeds more or less likely to be contaminated.

Martha-yes, I played around with the dosage. Started with 2 scoops-one at lunch and one at dinner, then went to 1 1/2 then 1. Didn't do much except delay me having to go but didn't help with consistency of BM's. It did settle my stomach though if it happened to be a bit off. I just didn't see much advantage and between supplements and thyroid meds, it got kind of complicated. I still have the can and who knows. I feel like if I truly had BAM, there would have been more results by week 4. It didn't hurt though.
