Up until the middle of last November, I was having many of the same problems that you are experiencing. All forms of sugar seemed to bother me, and while I could eat meat and potatoes, I couldn't eat most vegetables, and I couldn't eat bananas or onions, without getting sick. I found, (by doing an experiment with my diet), that I could eat most of my intolerances, including corn and diary, if I never ate them more often than once every third day.
On Novermber 13th, I had emergency surgery to remove a blockage caused by a stenosis in my sigmoid colon. After I recovered, lo and behold, I discovered that I could eat virtually anything that I wanted, without any problems, (except for excessive weight gain, of course. LOL) (Obviously, I'm still avoiding all sources of gluten). Since virtually all forms of sugar had been involved, I had thought all along, that fermentation was the likely problem, and that turned out to be the case. Sugar feeds yeast, and sugar is the fuel for fermentation processes.
What does this have to do with you? I'm not sure, but I can't help but wonder if something might be causing a fermentation problem for you. It's highly unlikely that you have the same problem that I had, but I wonder if maybe something else could be implicated. Do you know if you have diverticulosis, by any chance?
Curious,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
That's interesting. My colonoscopy was good except for the biopsy report so I beleive I'm clear as far as diverticulosis goes. Assuming they can tell from the colonoscopy. I don't think I have a major candida problem and I'm quite regular about taking probiotics now.
Thanks for these thoughts. I will ruminate on them more.

P. S. You may already know this but onions and bananas both have inulin, a very difficult to digest starch.
