Vacation Update

Post by Marcia K »

Thanks, Martha, Tex and Jari for your good wishes. Our vacation was fantastic! The weather was perfect and I didn't have any food issues. I took almond milk and hemp protein along for breakfast; salmon in a pouch, Oskri coconut bars, Epic bison bars and Beechnut 2 organic vegetables in a pouch. There was a Publix down the street where I bought apples, bananas, Jackson Honest sweet potato chips, canned asparagus and beets in a jar. The Epic bar and baby food saved me on the day we flew to FL because it was a long day and it would have been way too long in-between meals before I would have been able to eat dinner. I had no qualms about standing in front of our resort eating an Epic bar and baby food. I have come a long way. We ate dinner out every evening but it was fine. I did take a GlutenEase each time but I really don't think I would have needed it. Every where we ate they were good with my instructions as to what I could and couldn't eat. My husband kept telling me that was the most relaxed that I've been in two years and I know that I was. My job has been so stressful it was great to feel "human" again. The only blip was the aloe that I put on my sunburn at bedtime contained Lidocaine. As I was awake most of the night I was trying to figure out what caused it. The next morning I googled Lidocaine and insomnia - 7 out of 149 people experienced insomnia after using Lidocaine. That would be my luck. Our resort was beautiful and it was just an awesome time away. (I used a large plastic container to carry the individual cartons of almond milk, the Epic bars and the Beechnut pouches. My husband duct taped it shut and there were no issued with it being in my luggage.) I carried some of the things in my carry on so I would have them when I needed them.

Thanks Marcia for the trip report. I am so glad that things went well for you! It's nice to know that we are all in this together and I love reading and hearing success stories.

As we speak, I am headed to the airport for Vegas. I'll let you know how it goes!

Save travels, Jari and I hope you have a wonderful time! I would think that you'll do well in Vegas. A server at one of the restaurants we ate at asked me if they should clean the grill before they made my food. I wanted to kiss her. I'll be waiting to hear your success story. I hope we can be an encouragement for those who are just starting on this journey. And thank you Tex, for this awesome group who have helped me to come so far. I would not have been able to do it without you!
