Help! Can I use a Vitamix Blender to blend raw vegetables?
Can I use a Vitamix to process and break down such favorite raw vegetables as spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, and cooked Brussels sprouts, cauliflower into a "green smoothie". In other words an I "process" my go-to foods (salad ingredients) into liquid form and drink them?
Progress Report: I'm back on Budesonide 9 mg for 4 weeks, 6mg for 2 weeks and finally 3mg for 1 week - the same script and regime as before but added GF and Lf diet. I'm having a HORRID time trying to figure out foods as I was a Mediterranean Diet filler for over two decades! No salads is KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!
I've finished Tex's GREAT book. From his perspective I've been heading in the direction of an LC diagnosis all my life.
1. Chronic stress
2. Spastic colon, IBSD, Diverticulitis, etc diagnoses for the past 45 years
3. Raynards disease diagnosis 10 years ago
4. Celiac blood testing came out negative 8 years ago
5. Australian high fiber diet/no "white" carbohydrates through me into an exploding D 8 years ago which prompted Celiac testing
6. Sudden on set of joint pain diagnosed as arthritis
7. Scripts of Belladonna and Levsin
8. Severe D reaction to Ibuprofen resulting in Meloxicam script which worked for 8 months only to be stopped when LC appeared
9. Highly reactive D when tricked into eating foods containing MSG - read 20 minutes before exploding with severe shivering and cold sweats
10. 2 colonoscopies - 7 years apart - showed "nothing" abnormal in biopsies
11. Mother had and sibling has same symptoms
YEP, I was definitely headed for LC!

at this early stage of your healing journey, I would not be introducing raw veges just yet in any form..
even as a juice it is still alot for our digestion to process.
additionally Tomatoes are not ideal at this early stage of healing
in the early stages of healing - safe animal protein is what your body needs to optimise healing...
and having good serves of protein each meal of the day
We have prepared a eating plan guideline for the early stage of MC healing that may help you
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22328
this guideline also has information why lactose free is not enough, and we need to be dairy free in this early stage of healing.
we all have meals, cuisines, ingredients that we all miss (and some we may never have again), the reality of life with MC is that we have to do the mental and emotional work of 'acceptance' of the changes we are making.
hope this helps

Thanks
It's overwhelming however I know I can get through this with a Lot of help from people like you!
I had no idea when diagnosed with LC that I would have to learn a100% different way to eat. For over 45 years I have avoided what I laughingly called "Lunch room grub" as in mashed potatoes, limp broccoli, meatloaf, etc. Now it looks like the joke is on me!
I don't know how to cook in a slow cooker, or bake meat! It will be a journey! Thanks for giving me my very first step!

there is not much to learn. Cuts of meat on the bone provide more flavour
Cooking the vegetables with the meat (whether it be in the slow cooker or baking) also provides them with more flavour.
baking: sprinkle the meat with salt, place in the oven. when halfway cooked add in peeled veges (if you coat them with pure olive oil, or rice bran oil and salt they will bake crunchy. )
this website gives indicators of temperatures and cooking time based on weight of the meat

slow cooker: using home made bone broth would enhance the gut healing properties of the meal
