I was just listening to a video and it mentioned that Coconut Oil contains some MTC Oil and that MTC oil can cause diarrhea.
The last thing I want to take is something that causes diarrhea!
So what does this mean for us with MC?

Coconut Oil & MTC Oil

To me that's just another illustration of the fact that nothing is perfect, and if you look long and hard enough you can find faults with every good thing that has ever existed in the world.
And at the other extreme you can find something good in the worst of things, no matter how bad they might be otherwise.
MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides — hardly something to get excited about. Anything can cause diarrhea when taken in excess. One of the things that are claimed for MCTs is that they help to increase HDL cholesterol (which is the good type). Sounds like someone couldn't think of anything worthwhile to talk about but didn't allow that to stand in the way of making a video anyway.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks Tex! The video was saying how good MTC oil and Coconut oil were for your health. The diarrhea bit was only mentioned very briefly but it caught my attention.
I will stick with the coconut oil especially as the benefits are so good

there are Pro's and Con's to every food ingredient
we have to weigh up these Pro's and Con's. If an ingredient provides more benefit than risk or issue, And the important part in MC world, it does not trigger us, then stick with it.
With internet, Facebook, Podcasts, etc there is lots of information, well actually it is moreso opinions coming into our lives.
one week coffee is good for us, the next week it isnt..
the main thing we need to do is 'listen to our bodies' especially in MC world where we have limited base of safe ingredients. if something settles well, is affordable and tastes ok, stick with it!
