Hey Jill!
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Hi...I'm here..watching the Olympics...skiing
I went up skiing today...alone...there was a wind storm in the foothills and pass area, but I went anyway...my little car was really rockin and rollin on the highway. I stopped for breakfast near the ski area, then hit the slopes. I heard on the news that the wind gusts hit 60mph! The upper runs were closed...only the low easy lifts were running...some of the gusts almost blew me over, and I saw a ski instructor grab a little girl as she was blowing backwards...hahaha...funny sight! It was cold and the hill was a sheet of ice...but my new skis were amazing..I usually hate ice, but my skis hung in and even cruised through piles of crud. My legs never got tired...I was afraid my knees might give me a problem, but nope. I met some great people on the lift....One fellow was from the uK, but had been a prof at the Univ. of British Columbia! (thought of you Pegster)....I am feeling much more positive..I know I will have some low points, but that is to be expected....the fresh air, exercise and sunshine was just the ticket. I need to scoot...I have the Islaand Ski School tomorrow, and my school ski program on Sunday.....I can continue experimenting with my new skis! the wind should be better tomorrow too! nite nite...JJ
