Blueberries

Post by terre »

Warning, TMI

I have been enjoying blueberries with GF Rice Chex in the morning (with almond milk). I notice that some of the skins show up in the toilet (nice way to put it)....does this mean I shouldn't eat them? Maybe, it's like corn and even if I was seeing "Norman", the skins wouldn't be digested.

Thanks,
Terre

Depending on where you are at in your healing journey, it may be too much fibre for you at this point in time.

I was diagnosed in 2013, but it was January of this year that I got serious. I have no idea where I am in my healing as I still have D and am on Uceris....nothing has changed except the urgency and number of times I need to go. Mornings are still my worst time of the day. I was hoping to get a handle on this before I discontinue the med.....I wish I could get a feel that things are improving, but not yet. I'll just keep on keeping on.

Thanks,
Terre

If you still have D while on Uceris, it may not be good time to have high fibre items like raw fruit (and berries are high sugar too)

I am over 6 years post diagnosis and can only have small serves of fruit as treats occaisionally.

BooHoo! :hissyfit: No berries! Just kidding!

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. I hope it's okay to continue the Rice Chex and Almond Milk (minus the berries).

Thanks for all you do to help us!!!

Terre,

Can you tolerate bananas? I sometimes eat Chex with Almond Milk with banana slices on top.

I recently learned that blueberries contain solanine, the toxic compound found in nightshade vegetables. I wonder if that's one reason many MCers react (aside from the fiber). I love them!

I am only eating about 10 things. I eat applesauce, greener bananas and raspberries. I don't react to raspberries but I also eat only a few at one time. If this helps you replacing blueberries.
