B12 question

Post by crervin »

Has anyone ever experienced a severe migraine and low grade fever after taking b12 (methyl cobalamin)?

I took the source natural b12 sublingual and experienced the most horrific migraine ever and ran a low grade fever. I realized that 1 month earlier I did the same thing with another brand of drops. I stopped the drops cause it upset my gut.

After I get over being gun shy to trying new supplements, I might try taking a fourth of it, if I can cut it that small😀...

yes, i had similar reaction to methyl B12,
via the DNA testing and looking at my methylation profile, there was an indication that I respond better to multiple forms of B12.
and if you are deficient in other key B vitamins for methylation cycle (B6, B9) then you can have this type of reaction to the methyl B12

dont get gun shy about trying supplements. this type of reaction to B12 happens to non MC'ers as well.
the path to wellness involves lots of trial and error...
hang in there..

thanks Gabes. I tried complex b12 several months ago and couldn't find one that didn't upset my gut. I will look again. My mom is acquiring lots of supplements from me 😀. Maybe I should buy them individual and start from there.

Here is what I take it took some time for me to find the combo that I wanted
http://www.vitacost.com/vitacost-b-comp ... rry-flavor
I was not certain if the raspberry flavor would bother my gut but 2 + months on it my gut is ok

Well, dang...the liquid vitamin B complex from vitacost is out of stock. However, I'll be notified when it is back in stock and, I signed up for their intro 10% off. By the time it's back in stock, my body/gut should be calmed enough to take it.

I have found using practitioner only lingual products had no impact on my gut, and no reaction methylation wise..
for things like this, for some of us, we have to go a better quality of product.
