Smoker
Hello. My husband recently purchased a smoker and he is determined to smoke my meat in it. I am perfectly fine living in my own MC world but he won't give up. Does anyone see any potential problem with my meat being smoked in a smoker? One thought that came to mind is what is on the wood chips that are in the smoker. I don't like to try new things because I don't want to upset the apple cart! Thanks for any input.

I tend to have problems with "liquid smoke" products, so my thoughts on this are that if plain wood or plain wood chips are used (with nothing other than water to "enhance" the smoke — IOW no chemicals), I'm OK with that. But if chemicals are added to the chips, I'm not interested in becoming a guinea pig.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks, Tex. That's my exact thought. We checked the wood chips and it appears that they are just plain wood chips so I should be okay. However, I hope he soon gets it out of his system because I am perfectly fine preparing my own safe food!
