Magnesium Lotion?

Post by jlbattin »

Well, I've been suspect of using the Life Flo magnesium lotion for awhile now, and today I'm really wondering. It seemed that when I started using it, I started itching in various places, but mostly on my arms. I have very sensitive skin having been to the allergy doctor before I was a year old. I've always had to watch the type of soaps and lotions I used.

Today I'm very itchy. Incidentally, I also haven't taken Benadryl the last couple of nights so I'm wondering if the Benadryl I had been taking was helping mask some of the irritation and itching. There has to be some ingredient in there that my skin doesn't like. That's the only change I've made (except that earlier in the week, we did replace our large picture window and sliding glass doors and my house got covered with a layer of dust and I've been cleaning everything this week).

Anyone else experience any itching when taking the Life Flo magnesium lotion? The oil nor the gel bother me, but the lotion I'm going to have to set aside for awhile until I can figure this out.

Gee, I just looked at the ingredients and its beyond my scope of what it could be....citric acid, xantham gum?? I'm not using it as my main form of magnesium, just once in a while. For some reason it maintains a tackiness long after the fact when I apply it so only do it when feeling kinda dry. No itching to report of for myself.

Has it warmed up in your parts enough to spur more histamine inside the body due to heat?

Hi Jari,

I get itching from mag oil and bad enough I have to shower it off after 20 minutes.

Erica, I have no clue either, but since I've really never had any histamine issues, I know it's not that. I have, however, always had very sensitive skin and have to be so so careful what I put on it. I spent about 5 days a couple of weeks ago at a cabin in the mountains where I was outside a lot, and then with the dirt and other stuff we may have stirred up with our new window and door last week, I have no doubt that it's most likely something environmental that will pass in time.

I was using the magnesium lotion because it was easier to pack for trips than the liquid, but I'll just go back to the oil spray! I agree; it does keep kind of a tacky feeling.

It's never ending; isn't it?

I find if I put the mag oil on my chest or back, I itch terribly. If I put it on my arms or legs, I'm fine, if I clean it off after 20 min....
