Infrared sauna

Post by LauraAnn »

Have been having not-so-good days for a couple of weeks and haven't been able able to pin point what is the problem. Seems like everything I try back fires on me...literally! I finally broke down and started using my infrared sauna that I have not used since January when I got sick. I think I may have just been stressed out and not shaking it off.

Well it has been helping so much. I've been sleeping like a baby which has helped with the stress level which has helped with my moods which is making life a lot better for me and every one around me. I don't know why I didn't try this sooner....except I had read that heat is not our friend. I looked on line and found that infrared saunas are being used for all kinds of autoimmune sufferers.

Thought I would just pass this along to give others something else to think about.

Wish I had a sauna like that....will have to stick with Epsom salt baths to get that to-the-bone warm healing

That's great it has been helping Laura!

I recently read that infrared saunas are good for people with Lyme disease as well. Glad you found what works for you! My husband is always bugging me to get in the hot tub with him. I told him that my body is full of inflammation, I don't need more heat! I might try it one of these days to see how I feel. I wasn't a big fan of it before the LC so it really doesn't matter to me one way or the other if I go in it.

What is so great about the sauna is the relaxed state I find myself in afterwards. It's the best feeling in the world. I have been so on edge for the past 6 months that I didn't even realize that my shoulders were in my ears most of the time. That has got to be one of the main reasons that I can't get a grip on on being "normal". I've done everything right but have gotten stuck. This seems (so far) that this might be a big piece of the puzzle I've been missing. I always thought I was not handing the stress issues very well.

Now I get it...if it feels good -- do it! (Yes, I'm a survivor of the 60's). Lol

That sounds great, Laura! I'm a survivor of the 70's...my high school years were filled with people smoking pot. Sometimes I wish I would have been one of them!

Funny you should mention that. All of my good intention friends are telling me to try pot next. What ever ever works, right?

I live in PA and they just legalized it for medicinal purposes. It shouldn't have taken as long as it did to pass. If it can help someone who is suffering I'm all for it!

Marcia,

I live in one of the few places in Colorado that recreational pot is legal. The lines are always out the door and traffic is horrible! Not to mention what it has done to our crime rate and homelessness. I agree that some people really need the medicinal, but the recreational..........well.............my brain is still foggy from time to time......I don't need any help making it worse! LOL!

We have several members who have tried or are trying a form specifically selected for its medicinal attributes. Because they would rather not post about it on the board, they occasionally send me an update by PM or email. But to date at least, no one has reported any real success in controlling MC symptoms, let alone any miraculous results.

Isn't it funny how this evolved into a pot discussion from an innocent mention about saunas. I for one am sticking with the feel good sauna and leaving the pot alone for now. Speaking of which, I am on my way now to jump in and enjoy.

Hope everyone is going to have a good day!

Tex, I believe it can be helpful for cancer patients but I'm not really sure. Jari, I can believe what you're saying. The son of a friend of my husband moved to CO so he could smoke it without being arrested (he was arrested a few times here). I believe he works in a "pot shop." I don't want to be in an area where it's sold/used. Enjoy the sauna, Laura. I know you won't be hitting the weed while you're in there.
