my mum has a catheter to empty her bladder (due to stuff up during her bowel surgery) so is frequently having UTI's etc.

She uses colloidal silver as a skin wipe to minimise bacteria issues on her skin etc.

Thank you gabes! Typically I shower after my BMs. Sometimes shower twice a day. I will check into that.

Thank you brandy, yes yay! I would love to come by to see you but there are 6 children with us. They will be ready for that beach after an 11 or 12 hour drive.....

Hey guys, do you know if leg weakness is a symptom of a UTI? I started getting that feeling yesterday in my legs and a little in my arms prior to taking the cipro last night. I have it today and it gets worse in the afternoon.

Crazy, I just remembered that I took 100 mg of magnesium chelated non buffered a couple of hours prior to this feeling today and yesterday.

I stopped the remag until I feel better....

Tomorrow not going to take it to see what happens........maybe I've got too much mag. I spray 360 mg oil every morning before taking a shower.

Thanks guys for listening.

Hi Martha!

So glad you have something wonderful to look forward to with your trip!! Tell the beach "helloooo!" from me, too!!

I've found muscle weakness in general to be part of my MC. To the point where I catch myself hunched over sitting or standing and have to make an effort to keep good posture (and thankfully, I've always had very good posture until this MC).

Gabes, Tex and others ... is it possible to have too much magnesium stored with this condition?? I, too, use the topical, morning and night, and don't take any other form. (And I take 4-6,000 units of Vit D daily, also.) It just seems like this muscle weakness might have more to do with the UTI or even the antibiotic than the magnesium. Obviously, others way more experienced than I will hopefully answer this. It's also interesting to know whether magnesium works in harmony with an antibiotic?? Maybe the timing of when the magnesium and when the antibiotic are ingested could also be a factor ... hmmmm...

Hoping each day brings more healing, Martha!

Martha,

Yes, too much magnesium in circulation can cause the same symptoms that it treats.

Holly,

As far as I'm aware it's unlikely that one can have too much magnesium in storage in the cells, but it's certainly possible to have too much magnesium in circulation in the blood, if too much of a highly absorbable form of magnesium is supplemented and the kidneys cannot remove the excess amount fast enough. I would think that it would be very difficult to create an overdose condition with topical applications, though.

Like many antibiotics, Cipofloxacin depletes magnesium.

Thank you guys, just talked to the dr. She doesn't think it is the cipro since I had these symptoms yesterday prior to it. Not going to take that mag pill and see what happens. Its just 100 mg, but maybe it's too close to my morning oil. I cover my whole body.

Yesterday I took remag too. I stopped that until I have fewer variables, so didnt have any today. I actually thought it was that.

I always get the strangest problems...

Thank you again for listening to me!

Remag can certainly do that because it is very, very absorbable. It needs to be metered carefully.

I thought so too....maybe too much is still in my system. When I had those symptoms, something told me no more of that today.

My dr once told me my body was a fine-tuned machine, sadly he is so right 😢.
